There are several authentic hadiths that mention a special hour (or period) on Friday during which Allah accepts supplications.
One of the most well-known is narrated by Abu Hurairah:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"On Friday there is an hour during which, if a Muslim servant is standing in prayer and asks Allah for something good, Allah will grant it to him."
Then the Prophet ﷺ indicated how short that time is by making a gesture with his hand.
— Sahih al-Bukhari (935), Sahih Muslim (852)
When is this special hour?
The scholars have held different opinions, but two views are the strongest:
From the time the Imam sits on the minbar until the Friday prayer ends.
The last hour after the 'Asr prayer until sunset.
Many scholars, including Abdullah ibn Salam, considered the last hour before Maghrib on Friday to be the most likely time.
The Prophet ﷺ also said:
"Seek the hour in which there is hope that du'a will be answered on Friday after the 'Asr prayer until sunset."
Although reports on this wording vary in strength, many scholars accepted the meaning because it is supported by other narrations.
What should you do?
On Fridays, especially:
Increase your du'a throughout the day.
Send abundant salawat (blessings) upon the Prophet ﷺ.
Recite Surah Al-Kahf.
If possible, devote the last hour before Maghrib to sincere supplication, hoping to coincide with this blessed hour.
May Allah accept your prayers and grant you goodness in this world and the Hereafter. Ameen.
