EPISODE 25 — THE MAN WHO KNOWS THE TRUTH

The forest became silent after the mysterious man's words.
“He may still be alive.”
Ugochinyere stared at him, unable to move.
Her husband stepped closer.
HUSBAND:
“You said you know where her father was taken. Then tell us!”
The mysterious man looked around at everyone.
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“Not here. There are ears everywhere.”
Chief Okonkwo immediately became suspicious.
CHIEF OKONKWO:
“Who are you to come into our village and make such accusations?”
The man turned toward him.
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“You know exactly who I am.”
Chief Okonkwo's expression changed.
Ugochinyere noticed it.
UGOCHINYERE:
“Chief… why are you afraid of him?”
Chief Okonkwo said nothing.
The mysterious elderly woman stepped forward.
MYSTERIOUS ELDERLY WOMAN:
“Because the past has finally returned to ask for its answer.”
Suddenly, the mysterious man pulled an old piece of cloth from inside his robe.
Ugochinyere recognized it immediately.
UGOCHINYERE:
“That belonged to my father.”
The man nodded.
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“He gave it to me the night he was taken.”
Ugochinyere's eyes filled with emotion.
UGOCHINYERE:
“Taken by whom?”
The man looked directly at Chief Okonkwo.
Then he slowly turned toward Head Elder Nwafor.
Everyone followed his gaze.
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“Your father was betrayed by people he trusted.”
Head Elder Nwafor lowered his eyes.
Ugochinyere stepped toward him.
UGOCHINYERE:
“You knew?”
The elder remained silent.
UGOCHINYERE:
“You knew what happened to my father all these years?”
Still no answer.
Suddenly, a loud horn sounded from deep inside the forest.
Everyone turned.
The mysterious man looked alarmed.
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“They have found us.”
HUSBAND:
“Who?”
The man grabbed the old cloth and looked at Ugochinyere.
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“The people who have been watching you.”
He pointed toward a narrow path disappearing into the forest.
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“If you truly want to find your father, follow that path before sunset.”
Ugochinyere looked at the dark path.
Then she looked back at Chief Okonkwo.
UGOCHINYERE:
“And if you're lying?”
The mysterious man answered quietly:
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“Then you will never see your father again.”

EPISODE 24 — THE NAME ON THE LETTER

The forest had gone strangely quiet.
Ugochinyere stood frozen, staring at the final name written at the bottom of her father's letter.
Her husband moved closer.
HUSBAND:
“Ugochinyere… who is it?”
She slowly raised her eyes.
UGOCHINYERE:
“Head Elder Nwafor…”
Everyone fell silent.
The Head Elder's face changed immediately.
HEAD ELDER:
“That is impossible.”
Ugochinyere tightened her grip on the letter.
UGOCHINYERE:
“My father wrote his name here. He said he was one of the people who helped change the original agreement.”
Chief Okonkwo stepped forward, visibly disturbed.
CHIEF OKONKWO:
“Don't accuse an elder based on an old piece of paper.”
The mysterious elderly woman shook her head.
MYSTERIOUS WOMAN:
“She is not accusing anyone. Her father already did.”
Suddenly, a loud movement came from behind the trees.
Everyone turned.
The mysterious man appeared again.
But this time, he stepped into the light.
Ugochinyere stared at him.
UGOCHINYERE:
“Wait…”
The man's face looked familiar.
He slowly removed the cloth covering part of his face.
Chief Okonkwo stepped backward.
CHIEF OKONKWO:
“No…”
The mysterious man looked directly at him.
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“You should have told her the truth years ago.”
Ugochinyere's voice trembled.
UGOCHINYERE:
“Who are you?”
The man looked at the letter in her hands.
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“I was the last person who spoke to your father before he disappeared.”
Everyone gasped.
He continued:
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“And I know where he went.”
Ugochinyere stepped forward.
UGOCHINYERE:
“Where is my father?”
The man looked toward the forest.
Then he whispered:
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“He may still be alive.”

CHAPTER 23 — THE MESSAGE FROM THE PAST
The sound of the drum echoed through the forest.
BOOM...
Everyone froze.
BOOM...
Ugochinyere looked toward the direction of the sound.
“Who is beating that drum?”
Nobody answered.
The Head Elder quickly folded the old document and held it against his chest.
“We must leave this place.”
Ugochinyere shook her head.
“No. We have come too far. I want to know what my father wrote.”
The mysterious woman stepped closer.
“Then you must be prepared for what you are about to learn.”
Ugochinyere looked at her.
“I've lived with questions all my life. I would rather hear the truth than continue living in darkness.”
The Head Elder slowly opened the document.
📜 THE MESSAGE
The parchment was fragile and yellow with age.
The Head Elder began reading.
“To my daughter, Ugochinyere...”
Ugochinyere's eyes immediately filled with tears.
Her father had written her name.
Head Elder:
“If this letter has reached your hands, then the secret I protected has finally been uncovered.”
Ugochinyere covered her mouth.
Her husband gently held her hand.
The Head Elder continued.
“I did not abandon you. I did not forget you. Everything I did was to protect you and the truth.”
Ugochinyere whispered:
“Papa...”
🌳 THE SECRET
The Head Elder continued reading.
“The land was never stolen from Chief Okonkwo's family. It was entrusted to our family by the elders many years ago.”
Chief Okonkwo lowered his head.
Ugochinyere looked at him.
Ugochinyere:
“Then why did your family claim it?”
Chief Okonkwo had no answer.
The mysterious woman finally spoke.
“Because someone changed the agreement.”
Everyone turned toward her.
“Who?” Ugochinyere asked.
The woman looked at Chief Okonkwo.
“His father.”
Chief Okonkwo closed his eyes.
⚠️ THE SECOND REVELATION
The Head Elder continued reading.
“But there is something more important. The person who changed the agreement was not acting alone.”
Everyone became silent.
Ugochinyere stepped closer.
“Who helped him?”
The Head Elder looked at the final lines.
His face became troubled.
“The name is here.”
Suddenly, footsteps were heard outside.
Everyone turned toward the entrance.
The husband whispered:
“Someone is coming.”
The footsteps stopped.
Silence.
Then a man's voice came from outside.
“Stop reading that letter.”
Ugochinyere froze.
Chief Okonkwo stepped toward the doorway.
“Come out.”
No response.
The Head Elder held the letter tightly.
🔥 THE WARNING
The mysterious woman whispered:
“That voice...”
Ugochinyere looked at her.
“You recognize it?”
The woman nodded slowly.
“Yes.”
“Whose voice is it?”
Before she could answer, a stone was thrown through the doorway.
Everyone stepped backward.
The mysterious woman grabbed Ugochinyere's hand.
“We must leave now!”
But Ugochinyere refused to move.
“Not without the letter.”
She took it from the Head Elder.
“This belongs to my father.”
🌅 THE ESCAPE
The group hurried out through the rear passage.
Behind them, the mysterious man remained hidden among the trees.
Ugochinyere looked back.
For a brief moment, she saw a figure standing between the trees.
Their eyes met.
Then the figure disappeared.
