If you’ve been following us for a while, you probably know that one of our co-founders / roaster, Ka Hou , recently went down the rabbit hole and took part in MBRC 2026.

And somehow, after all the coffees, theories, tweaking, retweaking, overthinking, probably some mild emotional damage, and standing on a stage in front of a bunch of people who also really like coffee…

He made it to the semi-finals.

For a first attempt, we’re pretty damn proud of him.

The thing about competitions is that everyone walks into them for different reasons. Some want to prove a theory. Some want to be recognized. Some want to share an idea they’ve been obsessing over for way too long.

Whatever the reason, there’s always a mountain of work that nobody sees behind those few minutes on stage. The countless hours of preparation, the experiments, the failures, the doubts, and the decision to keep going anyway.

And we reckon that’s what makes every competitor worth respecting. It takes a certain kind of madness to willingly put yourself through the storm, all for a tiny chance of getting it right.

Anyway, Kahou will be serving his competition beans this coming Sunday (2/8) at our coffee space. Do drop by if you’d like to try what he brought to the battlefield.

Hi all! We somehow ended up at WOC Bangkok this year and spent too much money on coffee, and now we need more people to help us drink them.

So yes, we’re hosting a cupping session featuring some of the coffees and random good stuff we hauled back from WOC this year.

Come slurp coffee with us and pretend we all know what “white florals” means.
