PHO VIETZ
I'm not half as big a fan of their pho here as I am of their other dishes. But I come here cos they serve pork.
Dish 1 - a Vietnamese spring roll thing that I always enjoy. A cheong fun style rice sheet wrapped around minced meat and mushrooms. Dish 2 - dried pork noodles. A little like bak chor mee but with rice vermicelli. I enjoy this one! DISH 3 - Caramel braised pork belly set with rice. Tastes good and portion size is very decent as well.
I do find the food tends to be heavy on pepper. Would be nice if they learnt to cut back some.

PUNJABI LUNCH
Tried out Big Singh Chapati in Subang Jaya. A part of town I'm rarely in πŸ˜‚ i thought the Chapati was good. Fluffy and chewy. I enjoyed the Naan too, which was more chewy than most and less fluffy. But not oily.
The mutton briyani looked wet but was very tasty and flavorsome. Not much to look at basically but a delight to eat. The fish tikka was not spectacular to me, but tandoori chicken was tasty. I enjoyed my mango lassi too. Thick but not too thick, with the sweet fragrance of mango. I'd go back again if I'm in the area. But its not terribly cheap albeit quite expected. Ambiance was nice as there was cool air conditioning which was a relief in this heat!

UNLIMITED BANCHAN
OK I confess I judge Korean restaurants by the quality of their banchan and this one was amazing! Unlimited, all you can eat little dishes and you can even help yourself! Bbq meats were affordable and everything tasted good. Or maybe I'm just sold on the amount of banchan I can eat 🀣 Always crowded. Go early or be forced to queue.

MEAT THE PORKERS
Pork filled Indian dishes. Quite a first! Siew yoke (Chinese roast pork belly) biryani was not bad. Rich and they serve the Pork crackling on the side so it doesn't go soft. Not a big portion but enough for 2 because I find it a bit rich. The Pork 65 Masala was good. Not too spicy. Goes well with thr plain Naan. Pork pakora is also good for snacking. Best beer snack ever! Oh complimentary papadum was good! A bit of a novelty but food wasn't too bad.

PUTIEN
Tried this one Michelin star restaurant from Singapore. 1️⃣First up was the Loh Mee seafood noodles. Tasty and there was clams. It fell out of the shell lol! πŸ˜‚ 2️⃣ Century egg coated in batter and fried. Tasted like sweet and sour pork 🀣 not bad. No taste of the century egg. 3️⃣ Fried mantou with pork slices cooked with onions. It was OK albeit a little oily. They do give you disposable gloves to eat it with so you don't get your fingers dirty if you dont want to 4️⃣ fried yam. A bit sweet but interesting. 5️⃣ Heng Hua style fried beehoon. The noodles are really thin and light.
Overall I found the food a bit sweet. I do want to go back and try some of the other dishes though. And special mention of the chilli sauce. Very good!
Not halal.

SENYA IZAKAYA
A personal favourite Japanese izakaya. The Hokkaido grilled pork is out of this world. The food tastes good and prices are affordable. Make a reservation though. They are always full.
1️⃣ Boiled edamame tossed with pan fried bacon. So good!
2️⃣ salmon roll sushi
3️⃣ Boiled okra with natto (quite a mild flavour)
4️⃣ Hokkaido grilled pork belly. The best!
5️⃣ Roast pork belly slices. It was interesting. It looks blah but tastes good and comes served on a bed of shredded cabbage and crunchy bamboo shoots (I think) tasty but needs to go with plain rice as it can be salty.

PASAR MALAM ASAM LAKSA
Tried the asam laksa in the Bangsar pasar malam on Sundays. I wasn't impressed before. Still not crazy about it but the portion of fish was more and it was lovely and sour. RM6 for a small and you can eat in situ.

MAMA SAN @ KLCC
Tried at a friend's suggestion. She had the roast duck noodles. I had the Vietnamese beef pho. It was OK. The soup was too sweet although the beef slices were tender and plentiful. Did not come with basil. Very strange. So it tasted off. Like a sweet beef soup not like usual pho. Also served with fried dough sticks which was very odd and tasted oily. The chilli was nice. But service was crap. I asked for a chilli refill halfway through my noodles. It never arrived. How hare is it to scoop me some chilli sauce? Also incredibly expensive. Noodles were RM40. EACH! Never going back. Overpriced. 🀨

UNCOMPLICATED NOODLES
The folks at .dine have uncomplicated the complicated noodles. Personally I prefer the complicated version πŸ˜… But I like the mountain of fresh vegetables on this version. This is a light yet refreshing dish. And that chilli that goes with it truly elevates the dish. Goes very well with a crisp white wine. Yum! πŸ˜‹
