Step into your Confidence to show up and speak up for yourself and others!

👀 I am one week away from doing just that. I am already gearing myself up, leaning into the excitement and nervousness, envisioning the space, embodying the anticipation of energy in the room from the amazing guests, and thinking about how I can serve them best. I am so honoured and excited to share the stage with tourism, hospitality and recreation industry champions , and , where we take on this extremely pertinent topic, one that I feel so deeply about:

🗓 This is WORTH Association's inaugural Leadership Summit! Join me, together with an incredible lineup of speakers, on May 13th at the beautiful Fairmont Waterfront hotel in downtown Vancouver for an enriching day of insightful discussions and invaluable networking opportunities.

⚡ With trailblazer Joanna Jagger, MA, CPHR's vision to make an event to celebrate, empower and inspire women who work in the recreation, tourism and hospitality industries, the team at WORTH has designed this Summit to be full of opportunities for attendees to connect, collaborate and learn from leaders in these fields. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I had to keep my family waiting while I struggled to finish up at the shop, and Nilesh would patiently keep Kiran entertained, waiting on me. This went on for years.

The lack of understanding time management, prioritizing, the inability to mobilize the talents of my team because I was held back by my own fears, scared of not being liked.. all of this contributed to my ineffectiveness as a manager and leader. I made mistakes, disappointed myself, those who relied on me, and handled situations so poorly. At great expense, I had to get knocked down, recover, and learn the hard way. I wish I had a way to learn some of these lessons more effectively, gain more self-awareness around my leadership, and spare the good people who had to carry the burden of my errors in judgement.

When the founder of .association approached me to collaborate on WORTH Academy's development , I knew instantly that I had to be a part of it, and wanted to help develop a course that would speak to our unique challenges.

It is a curated course focused on leadership development for women in the tourism, hospitality and recreation industries. This 12-week program dives into the inner workings of our mindsets to big picture thinking for leaders and teams, and includes powerful group coaching sessions and a full-day leadership workshop led by .association 's founder and visionary, Joanna Jagger.

What a great start to the long weekend. It felt like a summer day yesterday. I enjoyed a relaxing patio evening with my gal , and we were so well taken care of . Would you look at that crawfish 😘! Seafood always makes me happy! Grateful for long lasting deep friendships. Cheers to a beautiful long weekend, lovely humans!
