BAP Filipino & Korean Cuisine Filipino & Korean Restaurant in the heart of Malta's Capital City. Bap Meogeosseoyo? Kanin ay buhay. At Bap Valletta, every day is an occasion to serve you.

In Korea and the Philippines, rice (“bap” in Korean and “kanin” in Filipino) is a symbol of well-being. It's the foundation of every meal and the main source of energy. The common greeting, "Bap meogeosseoyo?" (Have you eaten rice?) in Korean, is a way of asking "How are you?" and showing care for someone’s well-being. “Kanin ay buhay” (Rice is life) in Filipino, also shows the importance of rice in their culture. "Bap” or “Kanin” is central to various ceremonies and traditions, with different types of rice being prepared for special occasions. If you look closely, our “BAP” logo is also inspired by the natural elegance and form of rice grass. Whether you choose our authentic Filipino or Korean cuisine, we do hope this experience will be a remarkable one.

Did you know the Philippines has its own ceviche? It's called kinilaw — fresh fish cured in citrus, never cooked with heat.

This week we're serving it two ways: local tuna and lampuki (mahi mahi), cured to order and served chilled. Light, sharp and made for this summer heat.

A starter to share — or keep the plate to yourself.
