The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Tsutomu Koizumi, The Ambassador of Japan to Lao PDR, Mr. Atsaphangthong Siphandone, Mayor of Vientiane Capital, Mr. Phouth Simmalavong, Minister of Education and Sports, Ms. Buasone Vongthavone, President of Japan Alumni of Laos Association, and many other distinguished guests.
The event was held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Laos and Japan. Apart from selling food from both countries, the event also featured products and art performances from both countries. There were also activities such as wearing yukata, a Japanese singing competition, a papaya salad competition by Japanese people, a Japanese cooking demonstration, a cosplay parade, a Lao ancient pattern paster show in the middle of the event, performances by elementary school students, a Japanese Bon Odori dance, and a Lao Lam Vong dance to close the event.
The most notable were the leading artists, led by Aluna and Ola Blackeyes! And two hot teen artists, MVIIZ and Fizche, also show on the stage.
