One of the most beautiful moments of this Koito ceremony wasn't just the songs or the celebrations it was the symbolism behind every exchange.
The mothers exchanged mwaita (traditional oil), a beautiful sign that two families are now united as one. The fathers exchanged hearts, representing trust, friendship, and the commitment to walk this journey together as one family. The couple exchanged a wrist bangle and a necklace not simply as gifts, but as symbols of love, commitment, identity, and the lifelong bond they now share.
In Kalenjin culture, every gesture tells a story. Every gift carries a blessing. And every tradition reminds us that marriage is not only the union of two people, but of two families and generations coming together.
A privilege to witness and preserve these timeless moments through my lens. ❤️📸
