STATEMENT FROM THE FORMER QUILOX LOUNGE SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER/PHOTOGRAPHER.
Following a payment row with the directors of QUILOX LOUNGE kitengela, I have restricted access to this account.
I have been offering services to Quilox Lounge in the capacity of social media management and photography from the period 28 July 2022 - 31 May 2023, services for which have amounted to a bill of ksh 226,000 (Photography: 76k + Social Media management: 150k) but remain unpaid. To add salt to injury, the last payment I received from Quilox Lounge was a ksh 32k cheque that bounced, which is a criminal offence under the penal code of the laws of Kenya.
All my attempts to follow up on payment with the directors throughout the months were met with either false promises, excuses or no response, with eventually the main director/CEO, Director 1, (Director 2 has been unresponsive/inactive) refusing to pay, claiming that there exists no written contract that I was hired by the club, despite there being plenty evidence of having worked for them, backed with financial transactions. Implied-In-Fact contracts are legally binding under Kenyan law.
With all attempts to solve this matter amicably having failed, I have now opted to pursue this matter in court. It is solely for this reason that I have restricted access to this account to prevent any evidence of my having worked for Quilox Lounge being tampered with though deleting posts before the matter is determined in court. The pages will be returned to the club management after the matter is sorted. (I created/opened these pages)
A labourer deserves his wages. Work was done thus due payment should be made. This injustice should not stand.
