my father was calligraphy master. when i was a child, he told me ‘if you don’t practice 100 sheets, we won’t go skiing vacation’
so my winter holidays were filled with calligraphy practice.

now as an adult, i’m happy to teach calligraphy to French guests.
it gives me a sense of responsibility to share japanese culture.

we didn’t use ready-made ink.
we grind a ink stick with water then made a beautiful scent.
the ink contains natural fragrant wood & spices.

scent purifies our mind & space.
it helps our focus & feel calm.

i chose kanji (japanese characters) that match their name.
you can also draw pictures if you like.

父は書道の師範で、私の小学生の冬休みは「100枚練習を書かないと、スキーに遊びに連れて行かない」と父は言ったので、 私は頑張って練習した記憶がある。

大人になって、フランス人に書道を教えるのは嬉しく、
日本の文化を紹介する責任感が生まれる。

出来合いの墨汁を使わず、水で墨を磨ると香が立つのが良い、香木とスパイスが墨に入っているそう。

香りは、心と場を清め、書く事に集中出来る。

英語の名前に漢字を当てはめ、書いて頂いた。
絵を描くのも良し。
