I don’t think I’ve sat down and put my thoughts together on the rollercoaster of a season form January to April with 5 artists coming to our studio from all over the world.
It was inspiring, fulfilling as a potter, host and curator. I was overwhelmed by everything I gathered from these artists who I could sit for hours picking their brains.
Thank you to each student and artist who made this project so fulfilling to be a part of.
Can’t wait to do the next after a break :)

The Obvara Firing Process
Last post was all about the process of Obvara firing conducted by in our last ten day intensive! Here are some shots that I captured which tells the story of the process.
The Obvara is short, swift and an exciting process where the effects on the pots depends on the how much fermented solution is being poured on it, how hot the pots are, when is the water poured on the pots to cool it down, the form itself and the speed of getting the pot out from the kiln and into the Obvara solution.
