Due to the increase in coronavirus cases, the Uji Tea Cafe "TAKUMI no YAKATA" is closed from today until September 12. I came to work yesterday as a staff member and made sencha tea on a hot plate with a customer.
Using the tea leaves were picked at the beginning of spring, steamed, and then frozen to thaw naturally. We let them dry on the hot plate, rubbed them by hand, and after an hour, put them in a teapot to toast.
This is a fun hands-on menu at the cafe, but it was a summer vacation project only. When the cafe reopens, the summer vacation will be over. What a pity🥲

I conducted an online tea party. We are having a hot and humid summer in Japan☀️
I let guests to brew cold teas to help us stay as healthy as possible. I send guests four teas to discover something new along with some carefully chosen sweets in advance.
We brewed and toasted together and enjoyed happy tasty tea time🥂

I took my husband to a tea ceremony. Everything was well organized, but there were friendly atmosphere and not too tense, which made for a pleasant time. The time you spend savoring a cup of tea with care will relax you.

I took Chinese tourist guides to Wazuka Town. We walked through tea plantation of , who produces tea without using any pesticides, and had them try various teas.
We, Kyoto visitors hosts, are waiting for more tourists from abroad as we come up with new plans☺️

I enjoyed a multicultural circle event the other day. We walked along a hiking trail leading to a burial mound and looked over tea fields. Then we had a quiz to guess the tea, tried to make a bowl of matcha and turned a millstone. The participants, who said they don't usually drink Japanese tea, enjoyed tasting different types of teas♥️

I was so happy to hear from them that everything was very good おいしい💘

畑のエネルギーがいっぱい詰まった新茶で一服く「つろぎお茶時間」、もう一日開催します～。

６月11日金曜日。
午前11時～12時
夜8時～9時

当日は、事前にお届けする和束町産・無農薬の新茶をゆっくり一煎から四煎まで淹れて、ペアリングしたお菓子とともに楽しみます。
新緑の薫りを胸いっぱいに吸い込みながら、くつろぎお茶時間です。

事前にお届けするパッケージには、九州の新茶、静岡の新茶、そして、それらに合わせたお菓子数点も同封いたします。
11日に画面上でお茶の淹れ方練習したら、あとは、ご自宅でそれぞれ淹れてお味見くださいね。産地の違いを楽しんで頂けるお茶セレクションになっています。
