"There is only one thing Adenauer doesn't like in Italy: the food. Chefs from home take care of sauerbraten and other home-style cooking."

Since many years i am having dinner at the legendary Fasano Restaurant from time to time. And i have never been disappointed.

Yesterday night we started with "simple" capelli d'angelo on butter with rasped tartufo d'Alba on top. An absolute delight for every Italian food lover.

Main course has been fegato di vitello alla veneziana with polenta. The quality of the meat, the cooking and the presentation turned out to be top of the notch.

The three of us killed two bottles of fantastic Argentina/Mendoza Bramare Cabernet Sauvignon 2016. This brought us into a very good mood so we appreciated the tiramisu desert, the coffee and the Nonino Grappa even more...

The archtitecture of the Fasano restaurant can only be called spectacular. Since October in Sao Paulo is a very warm month, the complete roof of the dining hall opened during our presence and we enjoyed this dinner right under the stars of Sao Paulo!

Spectacular location on floor 102 of the Hong Kong Ritz Carlton Hotel. Stunning view on Hong Kong's Central waterfront.

Very professional and cordial service team. The charming waitress turned out to be from Montreux, Switzerland; studying at the École hôtelière de Lausanne and completing her internship at the Tosca Restaurant.

Ordered the five course truffle menue: Eggs, pasta, foie gras, meat and even the dessert with truffle. For people who love truffles, this is the holy grail. Also booked the outstanding Angelo Gaja wine pairing. What a dinner. Wow!

Subsequently Tosca chef Pino Lavarra got awarded with a Michelin star in 2014.

Before settling the bill i called my credit card company and negotiated a new payment plan. However, the evening has been worth every penny.

Clearly one of the best restaurant events of my life.

PS: Luckily Tosca did not jumped that night.

In the middle of New Yorks vibrant tourist theatre district and open since 1959. No wonder we had to queue up for 45 minutes without reservation. No problem at all. Moretti beer has been served from the tap in the meantime, which i like way more than the usual Peroni.
The very typical US-Italian dishes (meatballs!) are served up in giant family style platters for 2 to 3 people.
We tried the Burrata with ham, which turned out to be very fresh and good. Plus the Ravioli Di Napoli, which turned out to be huge and OK.
Finished our meal with a perfect Espresso. No time for desert since i had only three hours to catch LX017 on my way home. Made it onto the plane it in last minute, skipped inflight catering to avoid overweight...

The name is inspired by the owners given name and a legendary Spanish movie from 1955. Funny detail: There is a good Mediterranean restaurant with the same uncommon name in my hometown Zurich.
At the Cologne restaurant we have been welcomed by the charming wife of the owner, responsible for the perfect service.
The place has been fully booked out, it took a while to get our starters. Because of this we got a wonderful plate of mixed Italian antipasti. For free, wow!
Chateaubriand for two as main course. Not really Italian style but perfectly made.
All in all a very nice evening. We will be back soon.

Since many years i am a fan of the Milano based Bice restaurant chain. Middle of the nienties i started to explore Italian restaurants all over the world. The now closed Bice Chicago restaurant has been one of my favourite places.
Bice Buenos Aires is located in the pulsating Puerto Madero neighborhood and offers nice tables with seafront view.
Reservation by phone did not worked because of my mediocre Spanish language skills, the receptionist spoke no english. So we ended up handling the reservation details in Italian. Very authentic!
Ham San Daniele and Burrata: first class. The same goes for the Risotto Nero di Sepia and my favourite Ossobucco. Everything as it is supposed to be, including the kind and professional wait staff. We will be back.

Not real Italian food, but the name is (means crazy in Italian). A friend of mine and me had a blast. Very, very friendly and competent waiters plus fantastic dishes.
It started already at the winebar (first floor) with the lightest Priroat red wine ever tested. Moved down for great dinner and back again to the upper floor for ci**rs at the smokers lounge. Followed by Champagne tasting. No too shabby for a common Thursday evening!
15 minutes walking from the hotel. The way back took 1 hour and i needed to check Google maps. This is the only minus point i have to mention about Pazzo. (=:
