Novanta is an experience hotel nestled high up in an abandoned village of the tuscan Casentino valley The eggs will even come from our own chicken coop!

This summer we will breathe new life into the abandoned medieval Tuscan village of Borgo di Gello. Only 1.5 hours drive from Florence, the Borgo is a rustic village where, for this summer only, you will have the opportunity to stay in special apartments in the heart of the village. Situated on the famous Casentine forest, you will be able to eat, drink and above all enjoy the picturesque natural e

nvironment and its peace and tranquility. We will divide La Fattoria, a classic Tuscan farmhouse occupying the top of the hill, into seven studios and suites which will be sensitively and comfortably furnished. All rooms will have their own unique character, offering en-suite facilities and excellent views over the surrounding countryside. Pick your own eggs in the morning for a delicious frittata! In the old barn we will open a small cafe / restaurant, L’Osteria. In L’Osteria you can have a delicious home cooked breakfast every morning overlooking the valley. In the evening you can enjoy the cozy surroundings of L’Osteria and dine in style with fine Italian cuisine.

G A R D E N
There is nothing more satisfying that creating a meal from what you discover in the garden. The result? Roasted pumpkin and garlic risotto topped with fresh ricotta and fried sage. Cavallo nero, fennel, apple and toasted walnut salad with a mustard and apple vinegar dressing, followed by baked figs in honey with yogurt. Not forgetting the obligatory coffee to finish of course!

Cosy living room with wood burning stove with stairs down to the open plan kitchen diner leading out to the glorious terrace and garden below.
This self catering house is available to book all year round - perhaps the perfect place to send a long weekend in Autumn or even an intimate family Christmas!

AUTUMN
The trees are slowly turning a glorious shade of golden whilst we enjoy the last of the lazy days by the pool. The water is still warm from the summer sun, the air is calm and warm, and the figs are ripe and juicy on the trees begging to be plucked. A perfect time of year for a quiet getaway, some well deserved you time, to hike, bike, swim, or simply read a book in a hammock and watch the sun cross the sky.
