Vicuña stands at the very tip of the iceberg when it comes to quiet luxury - no one walks around advertising their sweater is made of Vicuña and the truth is most people haven’t even heard of it. There are a few brands that offer Vicuña not just because it’s so rare and expensive but also because if you offer it you better make sure you have excellent craftsmen and washers ready who know how to handle it.

When we first got into Cashmere knits we thought it was relatively simple, get the best fibre and then the knitting part is all the same… it isn’t. We began with stock backed service from a 300 year old mill in Scotland, results were alright but they weren’t anywhere on par with what Brunello Cucinelli or Loro Piana were doing. We then explored more knitting mill options in Scotland and discovered chunkier knits, which have a purpose but we just never got it. Worked with a heritage mill out in Wales which we still would go to for quintessentially British staples (cricket sweaters etc) and then finally decided if we want to offer product like the best Italian luxury brands, we would have to get them made in Italy and control the process from A through Z. We discovered a small family running a knitting operation in Umbria, Italy who take care of some of the work for the brands we aspired to… and the rest is history.
