We honestly don’t even know where to start.
The opening of Flúða Bakarí has gone far beyond anything we could ever have imagined.
The support, kindness and excitement we have received has been absolutely incredible — not only from Flúðir and our local community, but from all around the area and even much further away. ❤️
Some of you have driven a seriously long way just to come and visit us, try our bread, grab a snúður or simply say hello.
And that means the world to us.
Thank you for welcoming Flúða Bakarí so warmly here in Hrunamannahreppur. Thank you for supporting a new little local bakery and for showing us that this place was truly wanted. ❤️
And thank you for your patience while we find our rhythm.
Because… well… some days you have basically eaten us out of house and home. 😂🥖
We are perfectionists — unfortunately. 😅
So even though the opening has exceeded our wildest expectations, we also know that things are not perfect yet.
We are still learning, adjusting, baking, changing things and figuring out how to keep those shelves full. 👀
But this is only the beginning.

Already this week you can expect a bigger selection, more bread, more pastries, more cakes and more savoury food.
And yes — vegan options are coming. 🌱
Soups are coming.
More sandwiches and savoury options are coming.
And we have plenty more ideas in the oven. 😉
We are listening to what you ask for, learning what you love and slowly building Flúða Bakarí into the bakery we dreamed it could become.
A local bakery made here, for this community — but with the doors wide open to everyone willing to make the trip. ❤️
