Had a detailed discussion with Chef Rohit Sawant, assistant to Chef Vijay Malhotra, Area Executive Chef (Eastern Region), ITC Hotels, on how to proceed with introducing the organic certified, highly aromatic Kali Khasa rice, an heirloom rice variety of Tripura. At ITC Royal Bengal, Kolkata 🙂

As part of our endeavour to promote India’s indigenous culinary heritage, organically grown and certified highly aromatic heirloom rice varieties of Tripura, Kali Khasa and Harinayan paddy, were procured yesterday evening in the august presence of Shri Ratan Lal Nath, Hon’ble Agriculture Minister and Shri Animesh Debbarma, Hon’ble Forest Minister, Government of Tripura for export outside the state.

Continuing our endeavour towards promoting the indigenous heirloom rice varieties of Tripura. Procurement of organically grown, highly aromatic Kali Khasa and Harinarayan paddy scheduled for today evening for export outside the state.

The consignment will be flagged-off by Shri Ratan Lal Nath, Hon'ble Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Government of Tripura and Shri Animesh Debbarma, Hon'ble Minister for Forest & Environment, Government of Tripura in the august presence of Shri Apurba Roy, IAS, Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Government of Tripura, Shri Rajib Debbarma, Mission Director, Tripura State Organic Farming Development Agency and Shri Saurav Gupta, CEO, Sublime Gourmet Private Limited.

As part of our sustained commitment to promoting India’s traditional indigenous food items and supporting local agricultural communities, we have procured 1.1 metric tons of organically cultivated, highly aromatic Kali Khasa heirloom rice paddy from Tripura for export beyond the state.
This represents the largest consignment of Kali Khasa paddy ever dispatched outside Tripura, marking a significant milestone in creating forward market linkages for this rare and treasured indigenous variety.

As part of its endeavour to promote India’s indigenous culinary produce, The Whole Hog Deli
(a unit of M/s Sublime Gourmet), has now undertaken the promotion of Tripura’s famed
organically grown & certified Scented Lemon.

A consignment of 1.5 tons of Tripura's Scented Lemon was exported outside the state by
M/s. Sublime Gourmet, the largest consignment outside Tripura till date.
The occassion was graced by the Hon'ble Agriculture Minister, Government of Tripura, Hon'ble Chief Whip, Tripura Legislative Assembly, Agriculture Secretary, Shri Saurav Gupta, CEO, M/s. Sublime Gourmet and other dignitaries.
