We’re delighted to share that Laheké 2.0 has arrived at its new home in the heart of Kaziranga near Kohora Gate, opposite the SBI Kohora branch.
While the location has changed, the soul of Laheké remains the same: a space rooted in nature, community, and slow moments. We've taken on a new shape, and as we softly reopen our doors, we're allowing the space to grow and evolve gently, one day at a time.
This is very much a soft launch, so do bear with us as we settle in, add finishing touches, and bring our vision fully to life.
We’d love for you to stop by, say hello, and share your thoughts with us.

And just like that, our dream of providing a top-quality
eco-conscious cafe experience in Kaziranga has ended.

Laheke chai cafe has been demolished without any
hearing. Even though we had legally verified proof of the building existing way before 2019, we had to stand by and watch helplessly as higher authorities demolished our cafe that so many of you have come to love over the last few years.

As a small family-run business trying to create beautiful spaces that we, Assamese can be proud of, we are shocked and disappointed that it has come to this. But we’ll continue to persevere.

We are delighted to have you all with us everyday. Thank you for the continued support and love for our humble effort to sustain a cozy, eco - chic jungle cafe celebrating nature and delicious food in Kaziranga national park 🙏😊

~ For those who don’t know - where stands today is the very same place where ‘Kamrup Complex’ (the first tourist in Kaziranga) stood tall in 1970s before we had to close it down for the Assam’s insurgency conflict. My dearest grandmother (The cutest grandma or Aita as we call her in Assamese) herself used to cook in the very same kitchen making her famous ‘khao soi’ for guests, the very same recipe that we serve today for her memory sake at Laheke Chai Cafe in Kaziranga. ~ 🙏
