What is DESU ? Delhi Electronica Supply Unit came into existence in June 2008, as an attempt to propagate local electronica in the capital city and was a collective surge to create a new clubbing expe

rience. Initiated and fine tuned by collective of artists and friends, namely Brin Desai, Samrat B, Manu, Aparna Sethi, Chintan Kalra, Shyam and Poonam, the DESU events gathered underground music steam and club friendly audiences got the long-awaited exposure to alternative, offbeat and upcoming electronica acts from New Delhi and around the country. Teddy Boy Kill, Khirkee Gharana, Bagula Bhagat, Da Saz, Nucleya, Delhi Sultanate, Ravana, Hari & Sukhmani and other indie acts joined forces and resources to create the DESU events into a continuous and 'populated' gathering in the underground electronica circles of the capital city. Though very modest in terms of budget and ex*****on, DESU remained a very niche affair compared to other corporate events and concerts in new delhi. The events rocked to packed audiences for long hours at Cafe Morrison every month showcasing Djs and Live acts such as Bandish Projekt, Nucleya, Func International, Delhi Sultanate and Ravana. The events marked a variety of electronic tastes and local flavours and sounds. While Dj Ravana unleashed the much appealing Drum & Bass platter to a few hundred enthusiasts, live acts like Teddy Boy Kill and Nephunk performed live electronica sets and Capitan Dubroshnev's of Da Saz 'tweaked' ethereal and noisey soundstreams at DESU events. The effort behind the need to create an independent space for local electronic musicians is what DESU was all about. The DESU phases continued till 2010 and continued extending support to other local festivals such as the Holi Cow and Delhitronica. DESU remains one the most novel attempts to bolster the electronica scene in New Delhi. And the SONIC NATIVES ARE BACK.....HARI OHM 2012 !! Bringing the best of the underground to rip-roar the party ...
