Open Letter to All Our Loyal Customers, DJ's and Friends.
As of Mon Feb 17th, Garage Bar, as you know it, will close for a short period of 3 weeks for renovations. When it reopens the bar will be under a new name and with a different direction to the past 10 years.
We want to take this opportunity to Thank each and every one of you, the amazing customers and friends that have made Garage Bar your home from home for the last Decade. We also want to Thank in particular the great Trevor Dietz who has been so devoted to our little Bar for the whole 10 years.
In 2010, Trev set out to provide a space for Music lovers who just weren't been catered for in the city at the time. He wanted to create a hangout for all the cities sub cultures and bands with their excellent taste in music across so many genres, while hopefully introducing people to these genres, bands and songs for the first time. A bar that celebrated the music of the past, day in, day out. With the building of a team of incredible Dj's and music fanatics who were to become Garage Bar Dj's, we can proudly say that Trev definitely achieved his vision.
Trev has hosted so many unforgettable nights over the last 10 years and the Bar has made so many great friends across the music lovers of this beautiful city. We've had The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Fontaines DC, Fat White Family, Shame and The Horrors Dj with us to name but a few and have had everybody from Rhys Ifans to Fontaines DC, Miles Kane to The Murder Capital fall in love with our little gaff!
Most importantly though Trev has helped create a community and probably the closest you can get to a "local" , a rarity in the heart of any capital city, and we thank Trev and you, the best regulars any Bar could wish for, for that.
Garage bar will change cosmetically from its current guise and will reopen in 3 weeks time after a short refurbishment. This allows Trev the freedom to introduce some of the fantastic elements of what made Garage Bar so great into the hosting of his 7 nights a week at The Workman's Club.
Before we go, we must also Thank the incredible team of Dj's that Trev has built and have been so loyal, reliable and brilliant over the last decade: Gav Icon, Ken Mooney, The Reverend Tony Bones, Sam Morrissey, K**e Martinez, Domino Whisker, Pete Toomey, Robbie Brady, Brian Gallagher and all the former Resident Dj's from Sean Goucher to Laura Lovejoy, Paula Cullen to Michelle Farley. We Thank You So Much
Finally, we must Thank three Bar Managers in particular who cared for Garage Bar like one of their own, namely Sean, Christine and Ciaran.
We'll leave things at this and we all sincerely hope you come down to say Goodbye to Garage Bar, as you know it, at some point over the next two Weekends.
Once again Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
