*FREE workspace. FREE sockets. FREE Wi-Fi. FREE (and clean!) toilets.*
And some seriously good coffee and genuinely unique food.
Now that I have your attention… 😄
There was a huge discussion under a post of someone looking for a place to work on the All things Galway. I want to offer you our space: a gracefully designed café-restaurant with, admittedly, a rather boring generic name (Abbeygate Café) and those wonderfully uninviting mirror windows that I unfortunately can’t change. 😂
But we give our heart in that what we do. I’m just the afternoon chef. Definitely not a marketing expert, but I want to give a job to these poor empty chairs.
So, what can you find here?
☕ *Good coffee after 5pm* — yes, really. Perfect for evening cravings, studying or the night shift crowd. Gardaí already found us.
🍰 *Cakes & heavenly milkshakes* for when coffee alone isn’t going to cut it.
🕗 *Open 7 days, 8am–10pm*
💻 *50+ comfortable chairs and benches, with sockets* — ideal for students, digital nomads, business travellers, club meetings, larger parties, awkward first dates or anyone who simply needs somewhere to sit, work, study or switch off.
🎓 *from Oct 1st: Student deals from €10*, or €12.50 including chips and a drink and a very interesting fidelity card with multiple wins.
*Irish classics* — breakfast, sandwiches, steaks, burgers and more.
*Persian cuisine. Great cooking since 2500 B.C: a depth and variety you may never have encountered before.
If you've never heard much about Persian food, that's probably due to world politics, not because it isn't worth discovering. 😉 It’s fresh, aromatic rather than overwhelmingly spicy, with plenty of naturally gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options — and, most importantly, *breathtakingly delicious.*
And yes, there will always be a smile and a kind word waiting for you.
So if you've made it this far, perhaps come and see what we're about.
*Like. Share. Visit. Bring a friend. Tell someone who might love it. Make it go viral. Help fill these chairs.*
Small independent businesses survive because people choose to discover them — and we'd love to welcome you.
Go raibh maith agat.
