Meet our latest volunteer, Gerldaine — although, to be honest, this lady needs absolutely no introduction! 😊❤️
Three weeks ago, Gerldaine walked through the doors of our Community Café as a volunteer, and we honestly couldn’t have been happier to see her.
In her own words, this place is her “happy place” — and hearing that means more to us than we could ever put into words. We feel genuinely honoured to have Gerldaine with us, bringing her warmth, kindness and wonderful personality to the café.
Gerldaine has always been someone who looks out for people. She has a very special way of making people feel welcome, cared for and included, and that is something that shines through the minute you meet her. ❤️
It didn’t take long for her to become part of our little café family either. Volunteers who hadn’t known Gerldaine before have instantly taken to her, and within just a few weeks there have been plenty of chats, plenty of laughs and already some lovely new friendships.
And of course, yesterday gave us another little glimpse of exactly what Gerldaine brings to the café! Carrie one of our lovely volunteers arrived looking very glamorous, wearing a beautiful neck scarf, and Gerldaine was immediately telling her how fabulous she looked. 😂 The conversation soon turned into a bit of fun about the scarf, and before long Gerldaine was singing a few lines from Grease!
As many of you will know, Gerldaine is a wonderful singer, so we’re thinking we might have to turn down the radio every now and again and let Gerldaine provide the entertainment! 🎶😂❤️
There is something very special about seeing familiar faces become part of a new chapter, and we feel so lucky that Gerldaine has chosen to spend some of her time with us.
Welcome to the café team, Gerldaine. We are absolutely delighted to have you here, and we already can’t imagine the café without you. ❤️☕️
