At our Community Café, we love making everyone feel welcome, and that's what our café is all about. As many of ye probably know, Liz McCormack is one of the wonderful people in our café kitchen and is a huge asset to the team. Her grandson, Jesse, is home on holidays from Australia and called into the café today with his other grandmother, Marian. While they were there this morning, a customer asked if there was any chance he could have two boiled eggs. He knew they weren't on the menu and even said if it was any bother, he'd happily have scrambled eggs instead. But nothing is ever a bother for any of our amazing volunteers, so the girls in the kitchen said, "No bother at all," and put on two boiled eggs.Everything was going perfectly until it came time to serve them... and we discovered we didn't have any egg cups! 🙈 Not to be defeated, the team improvised, and the eggs were served in a perfectly sized bowl.Liz was telling Jesse the story this morning, and this evening he arrived back from Clonmel with brand new egg cups for the café.We were honestly blown away by such a thoughtful gesture. It really shows the goodwill and kindness that people have towards our Community Café.Sometimes the little stories we share here might not seem like a big deal to everyone, but to us they mean so much. They are little reminders that what we're trying to achieve in our Community Café is appreciated and supported by our community. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, is a huge vote of confidence in what we're doing, and for that we are truly grateful.Thank you so much, Jesse. We wish you safe travels as you head to Las Vegas tomorrow, and we look forward to welcoming you back the next time you're home in Fethard. ❤️
