About us
The Cherrytree is a family run pub in the heart of Walkinstown, originally established in 1953 as part of the emergent estates of Dublin at the time. The McGeough family have been behind the bar since 1979, when Ted McGeough took over the O'Mearas pub in Parkgate St. Since then the family business has grown strong, taking over the Cherrytree in 1998 from Murtagh Properties, this marked th

e passing over of Dublins last Guinness Brewery pub. It remains the families intention to uphold and maintain the great Guinness traditions. You will now find Gerry and Austin McGeough and their team behind the bar waiting to serve you. While opening during the day and catering for lunches and funerals our aim is to provide a platform for your good night out. Be it a vibrant 21st, a laid back 30th, a salsa fueled 40th, or that golden anniversary.

You could say things got a little… MADri around the roundabout 🍻

Sun splitting the stones, pints flowing, and tables full of laughs all weekend long. Safe to say you kept us busy 💚

If this weather keeps up, we might have to install a pool in the middle of the roundabout!

Nothing fancy needed really — just good people, a few drinks, and a great local to meet in 💚

That’s what the Cherrytree is all about. Familiar faces, proper chats, and nights that always seem to last a little longer than planned 🍻

More than just a pub around the roundabout 💚

The Cherrytree has always been about people — the familiar faces, the quick chats over coffee, the music on the weekends, the pints after work, and the friendships built over years.

A proper local spot where everyone’s welcome, and nobody stays a stranger for too long 🍻

The passing of Tony Walsh is deeply saddening.
Tony and Mary were great supporters.
Tony's business acumen and dedication to the shop was legendary.

He was an excellent employer and always bought the staff to us at Christmas.
A champion of the Cherrytree Players with Mary. Every production.
I often sought Tony out for advice and he responded every time .
He was unceasingly charismatic and charming.
He supported us in many of our offset adventures and was always on hand as a sounding board .

Tony was a most generous man , giving of his time and resources effortlessly.
Gentle , welcoming, hiding a wicked sense of humour.
A weekend gathering in the bar with lifelong friends and Mary , central to the establishment.

Tony was a gentleman.
A humble man with a wicked sense of humour.

He was a principle advocate and advisor to us, knowing the land and the complexities of families nearby.
Reading the parish .

Mary , his best friend, our deepest sympathies.
The world is poorer with the passing of a Gentleman.

Tony. A decent man .
