It all started when…

A love of coffee and a desire to bring high grade speciality coffee to Cork was at the forefront of our minds. We started with a coffee machine serving up delectable brews to the ever-growing coffee curious public. With their support, we went on to expand our operation and purchased a Giesen 6kg small batch coffee roaster. This enabled us to source green coffees from some of

the most progressive producers around the globe, roast these to perfection and serve them (in style) to the public of Cork City. And all this happened under one roof at 23 Tuckey St, Cork City, Ireland. This time by opening 2 more SOMA cafes and by moving our roasting operation out of the cafe and down to The Black Market, on Monahan Road, just a stones throw from the city centre. We also purchased another Giesen roaster, this time a 15Kg. In doing this, we have been able to develop our wholesale and supply a part of us to Specialty cafes, both nationally and internationally. From Africa to South and Central America and everywhere in between; we source our green coffee beans both directly and through importers, all of which are accredited, high grade specialty coffee farms & brokers.

Finally, our favourite time of the year has arrived and a new crop of Kenyans are here to tantalize our taste buds! With its big juicy body, bright acidity and fruit-forward flavours, Kenyan coffee just hits different.

Thaita factory is owned by Inoi Farmers’ Cooperative Society, and it is located on the foothill of Mount Kenya, just outside of the town Kerugoya.

This western part of Kirinyaga has some of the most fertile soils in the country, and the farms that deliver cherries to this factory are located at 1650-1800 metres above sea level.
