Heather at The Gap is an Artisan restaurant set on the River Loe with stunning views of the iconic Gap of Dunloe. We look forward to welcoming you to ‘The Gap’.

We grow our own garden vegetables, salad and herbs from our garden and polytunnels. We bring you fresh seasonal produce, from farm to fork. Heather is a bright and spacious table service restaurant which opens onto 5 acres of kitchen gardens and ornamental landscaping. Our mission is to produce fresh, simply prepared, seasonal food at this vibrant venue. As well as produce from our own garden and

polytunnels, we take advantage of the wealth of local artisan food producers, organic farmers and wild Atlantic seafood that the South West of Ireland has to offer. Heather is set on 5 acres of multi-level gardens with breathtaking views of the McGillycuddy Reeks. At Heather restaurant we aim to keep the journey from producer to your plate as short as possible – and what better way than growing our own fruit, vegetables and herbs right here in our own Polytunnels and Kitchen Gardens? We have an impressive polytunnel on site that allows us to grow an incredible range of produce that would otherwise struggle in Ireland’s moist temperate climate such as tomatoes, french beans, salad greens, chilis and sweet peppers. The tunnel allows us to extend the growing season and has the added advantage of allowing our gardeners to work, whatever the weather! As well as our produce being as local and sustainable as possible, an added advantage for our customers is that they can see for themselves where our work in the garden translates to the restaurant’s menu. Customers are encouraged to take a walk through our gardens with over 50 perennial fruit bushes and raised herb beds, cross the footbridge over the river Loe and wander down the path that leads to our polytunnel. Depending on the time of year you will come across the various processes involved in making our small corner of the Gap so productive!
