The course opened for play in September 1994 and was designed by renowned Golf Course Architect, Mr. Patrick Merrigan whose work includes Slieve Russell, Old Head of Kinsale and Wooden Bridge. He employed international standards and construction specifications including mildly contoured sand based greens and alternative tees to accommodate all categories of players.
