We were delighted to support the Ennis Halloween Parade this evening. It was all hands on deck to help ensure the huge crowd were safe during the event. It was absolutely fantastic to see all the children and families enjoying the wonderful atmosphere around Ennis.

Well done to for organising the event and to the volunteers from Clare Volunteer Centre for also helping to keep people safe. The crew of the Ennis MD from Clare County Council also deserve a shout out for preparing the town with barriers and having the town looking so well.

Its always a pleasure working with An Garda Síochána Clare , their presence and professionalism is always very reassuring to all in attendance.

Final thanks goes to our own team members that made themselves available again this evening. Time and time again we ask so much of these people and the never let us down.

Well done to 3rd Officer Robert Cleary on a fantastic interview on Clarefm this morning. As always Robert represents Clare Civil Defence to the highest standards. We are blessed to have Robert as part of our team .

“If you just want to show up and just be there, you’re helping out in some shape or form, whether it be driving a vehicle or just making tea or something like that. There’s something for everybody in it.”

That was Rob Cleary’s message on Clare FM’s Morning Focus. The Clare Civil Defence volunteer spoke about the different ways people can contribute, with training provided and roles for those joining without previous qualifications.

As Clare looks ahead to European Volunteering Capital 2027, Rob’s message offers an encouraging starting point for anyone wondering where they might fit in.

This week over 60 members attended training, our new recruits received induction and safety training, year two students are undergoing the First Aid Responder course, year 3 students are working hard at the Emergency First Responder course and general weekly training members participated in a large training exercise that simulated a response following a severe weather event, testing our command and control and our volunteer tracking software.

Its fantastic to see such big numbers of people willing to give up their time to be #1 part of our team, #2 to better themselves and improve their skills and #3 to make a difference in their communities.

Great initiative to be involved in, inspiring the next generation of professionals volunteers. Well done to Killaloe Fire Service, Killaloe Coast Guard Unit , An Garda Síochána Clare and the teachers and students at St. Anne's school in Killaloe. Special thanks to our medical team that took part yesterday.

Special thanks also to the other members of our medical team that were at the Health expo at the West County Hotel in Ennis.

Last night we welcomed 19 new recruits to our team bringing the total number of active volunteers to 101. Over the next number of months the new recruits will be trained in disciplines such as Radio communications, mapping software , manual handling, Cardiac First Responders and much more.

This has been a long process so far ,with open nights and interviews taking place since last June but last night their journey really begins. We wish all the new recruits the very best of luck.

We would also like to thank our officers and Leaders who have helped out with this process.

Final thanks goes to the course facilitators. 1st Officer Aaron and 2nd Officer Jo who will guide the students from start to finish.

Over 40 members returned to weekly training yesterday evening after the summer break. The crew were also briefed about the busy weekend ahead.
Medical and rescue crews will be on duty for Doonbeg Failte Festival and for the quarter finals of the Club hurling in Cusack Park.
