Here is the finished piece hanging in the school last Friday. We were shown around by our excellent tour guides Finn, Fionn and Tadhg. The pupils and teachers put together an incredible display of social history and photos. We were delighted to be involved in such a great project and the sandwiches and cakes were delish. 😋 there is a joke at the end

Us crafty women of The Storehouse have been working on an art installation with the current pupils of St. Michael’s NS Ballyduff Upper to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the school being open. The motto of the school is Kind hands, Kind hearts, Kind words so with that in mind all 107 pupils cut out and signed their names to either a hand, heart or speech bubble and attached it to the wall hanging. They will also be incorporating the 167 pupils that attended the school when it first opened in 1976. The finished wall hanging will be on display at the open day on Friday 29th May.
It was great fun and they all did a mighty job. Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí

Some of you may have met my Sooki dog AKA The princess of Arabia at the shop over the last couple of years. Sorry to say I had to say a final goodnight to her on Tuesday. She had been unwell for the last year and I tried everything but unfortunately she just wasn’t getting better. It was a tough decision but the right one. I brought her from straying in the desert of Qatar to the boreens of East Cork 13 yrs ago. Everything is a bit crap at the moment..Sinéad x
