We are both excited and a little sad to tell you that the time has come for us to leave our beloved restaurant in Ballyconnell. We are into our 20th year in Ballyconnell and what a time it has been. Starting off in “Orlaigh’s Cottage” all those years ago serving breakfast and lunch seems like a lifetime ago. It took a while to get customers in and Orlaigh was a hard act to follow! But we haven’t looked back since - meeting so many great people along the way (and the odd crank), but for the most part lovely people (some who have become good friends) who appreciate quality home cooked food and good wine.

We also had the pleasure of working with some of the best staff anyone could wish for, who shared our passion for quality food and hospitality. With their help we sailed through the Celtic Tiger and beyond. Our regulars (you know who you are) are still coming in and have kept us going from the start and we thank you for that. Thank you to all our customers, those of you who dined with us regularly, and to those who dined occasionally, and to all of you who recommended our restaurant to others. We really appreciate it. Thank you.

We will be here until July 1st 2017, before leasing out the restaurant …. watch this space…… we will introduce you shortly. Goodbye for now and enjoy your summer.

As recommended by another reviewer we went here when staying at the Slieve Russell. Great recommendation. Every bite was delicious and the staff very friendly. We had the Brie, mixed salad, steak with brandy and peppercorn sauce and chocolate pudding and ice-cream. Yummmm! Will definitely be back.
