POV: travelling with your extrovert dad means he’ll talk to absolutely anyone.

If you know Kasim, you know he’s a full-on social butterfly. Conversations with strangers aren’t random to him, they’re opportunities. I’ve grown up watching it, almost tuning it out.

But this moment stopped me.

We were walking past a coconut stand when he struck up a conversation with an older woman selling on the street. Within minutes, she wasn’t just selling coconuts, she was sharing how she lives her life. She told him she stays strong because she chooses to laugh every day, and that joy is what keeps her going.

It made me realize he’s not just talking for the sake of talking. He’s collecting perspectives, stories, and small pieces of wisdom you’d never find otherwise.

And somehow he always walks away with something meaningful
