We wanted to share an update with you all on our opening hours. Due to increased demand over the last two days, our retail store will be closed Monday 12th January to enable us to re-stock with all of your Fortnum’s favourites. We will reopen from Tuesday 13th until Sunday 25th January and would love to see you in store.

Preserves, marmalades, jellies and curds... What's the difference? 🍓🍊

Preserves are made using whole or large pieces of fruit which stay plump throughout cooking! They generally have the fruitiest flavour of all spreads and almost any fruit can be preserved. However, marmalade differs because its flavour comes from strips of fruit peel and not the flesh. Jellies have the smoothest consistency because they contain no seeds, peel or fruit pieces and they tend to be far more delicate in flavour. Curds use eggs and butter which makes them so smooth and glossy. They are more similar to a custard than a preserve in texture which is why they often feature in puddings.

With a carefully curated set menu centred around sustainability, seasonality and St. JOHN’s signature flair – as well as a specially curated wine list by St. JOHN co-founder, Trevor Gulliver, featuring a selection of red, white and sparkling St. JOHN and Boulevard Napoleon wines – this strictly limited restaurant residency is too good to miss.
