Here's the Story of Our Superhero Daddy
Our daddy moves mountains to make sure we never lack anything. He is our protector, provider, comforter, and biggest supporter. Today, we want to share why our daddy will always be our superhero.
**Raydon**
Here's to my bonus father. I have been blessed with two fathers—my biological father and my stepfather. Even though my biological father is actively a part of my life, today I want to give my stepfather his flowers. My stepfather has never once made me feel like I wasn't his own. He stepped in and stepped up in ways I cannot even begin to explain. He has been a part of my life since I was about five years old, and he has loved me unconditionally ever since.
He has always been more like a friend to me—although sometimes a very strict friend when I misbehave! Sometimes I need a little pull-up, but I secretly laugh because for all the threats he makes about sharing licks, he doesn't actually believe in hitting us. Instead, he punishes us by taking away our gadgets or putting us on time out. Honestly, sometimes we think we would have preferred the lashes over losing our devices!
No matter what, he is always there. If my mom or biological father can't make it to something, I often wonder where my stepdad magically appears from within ten minutes or less. It's like he's always ready to rescue me. One memory that will always stay with me is when I had to spend a night in the hospital. He sent my mom home to get some rest and stayed with me all night, sitting in an uncomfortable hospital chair, watching over me while I slept and attending to my every need. Not once in my life have I ever felt unloved by him or like a stepchild.

I cannot express the amount of love I have for my father. People say boys are mostly attached to their mothers, but I can prove that's not always true—I'm all for my daddy. Even though I don't live with him, he picks me up every day and takes me to school. I look forward to every Friday afternoon because it means I get to spend the weekend with him. School holidays are even better because I get more time with my dad.
My daddy is my safe space, my peace, and my comfort. My world lights up whenever I'm around him. Over the years, I've always looked forward to spending birthdays and holidays with him because he makes every occasion magical. Even though I don't live with him full-time (which I'm hoping changes soon), he always makes sure I am treated exactly the same as my two siblings who live with him. He never allows me to feel less loved or less important.

My daddy and I are each other's world and each other's twin. Daddy treats me like a princess. Every afternoon after school, I hope he's already home because I love standing at the bottom of the stairs and calling for him to come get me. Believe it or not, even if he's in the bathroom, he drops what he's doing and comes running downstairs to pick me up.
Daddy can be fast asleep and still hear me cry. He always comes to my rescue—even though most times it's just me trying to get my own way! I always prefer going places with my daddy because if I'm not in the mood to walk, my superhero scoops me up in his arms like a princess. Daddy is always the first person to understand when something is bothering me. Even when I can't clearly explain how I feel, he understands my language. He does everything within his power to make me smile again. Even for my clinic appointments, Daddy always makes time away from work to be there with me. Daddy is my safe space, my peace, my comfort, and the person I run to when even a tiny fly bothers me.
**Our Daddy**
Our daddy is always present, always loving, and always caring. He never misses our important moments. Whether it's church activities, school events, graduations, performances, or achievements, Daddy is there cheering us on every step of the way.
We always prefer shopping with Daddy because while Mommy might look at the price tag and say, "We'll buy it another time," Daddy somehow finds a way to get us what we need. Even if it means using the last change he has, he always puts us first. So yes, shopping with Daddy is definitely much more fun! Sometimes Daddy can seem very overprotective, but we know it's only because he loves us so deeply. When we're hurt, he's hurt. When we're worried, he's worried. He carries our burdens as if they are his own and does everything within his power to shield us from pain and disappointment.
Mommy thought she was the better cook, but recently she discovered that Daddy can make some things even tastier—especially when he uses his favorite Sterling Golden Cream Margarine. Daddy is famous in our house for his golden, crunchy toast bread. The way he spreads his favourite Sterling product, Golden Cream Margarine, before toasting it somehow makes it taste better than anyone else's. Nobody can make toast like Daddy, and no other margarine makes it taste quite the same. Even Mommy regularly requests Daddy's toast bread for dinner.
Then there are the random Saturday adventures when Daddy takes us to Sterling at Providence, where we get to enjoy the play area and cool down afterward with delicious Igloo Ice Cream served in our very own waffle bowls. These are the moments that make our daddy special and our superhero, not just the big things, but all the little things too. He loves us fiercely. He protects us endlessly. He sacrifices quietly. He shows up every single day, without fail.
To the world, he may be one man, but to us, he is our hero, our protector, our provider, our safe place, and our biggest blessing. Daddy is, and always will be, our superhero. ❤️
To us, he is our Sterling Super Dad, and he deserves to be celebrated today and every day.
