"If I wanted something blunt, I'd have bought a spoon". It's common knowledge that a blunt edge is more dangerous than a sharp one, and yet most edges go a lifetime in the modern world without being maintained. Gardening tools, kitchen slicers, pocket knives; The workhorses of our parents and grandparents essentially replaced by disposable trinkets. That's where I come in! Whether it's simply a chef's knife that you've let the edge fade on, or a vintage tool that needs a breath of new life, I can hopefully work my magic. The services I offer, on a case by case basis, range from a simple sharpening to a full blade polish and resetting of the bevel. I will work with you to get the finish you desire, to get the most from your tools, to preserve history or remove signs of abuse. I use ceramics, artificial minerals, strops and polishing compounds, Micro-Mesh™ cushioned abrasives - and a whole lot of elbow grease. While in my care, your blade will never be touched by power tools. In time I will also be offering relatively inexpensive flat ground utility knives, with a reworked edge, for purchase. Gift a reasonable tool to those people you know who couldn't sharpen a knife if it walked its way across the stones for them, or grab yourself a cheapy for throwing in your pack, tackle box, kitchen drawer - whatever suits your need.
