I’m starting to realise quite a few of you don’t know that I make celebration cakes too! 🎂

And kids’ cakes are some of the most fun ones I get to make! 💯

I’ve had everything from dinosaurs and Mickey Mouse to TikTok, Harry Potter and beautiful book-themed cakes come through the Milliefox kitchen. Basically, if your little one is obsessed with it, there’s a very good chance I can turn it into cake! 😂

Every cake is custom-made, so you can come to me with a full idea, a vague theme or simply tell me what they’re into and we can go from there.

The team and I can also cater for most allergies and dietary requirements, so please mention these when you enquire.

Part-Time Cook Wanted | Milliefox Café, York

Can you turn out a cracking breakfast, make a panini worth coming back for, and keep your cool when the orders start flying?

We’re looking for an experienced cook to join our small, friendly team 2–3 days a week, plus holiday cover. The role will include some weekend work.

We have a fresh prep kitchen, so you’ll need to be comfortable preparing food from scratch, staying organised and pitching in wherever needed. Experience working in a small team is essential.

And here’s the rare bit for hospitality: we close from Christmas Eve until after New Year, so you’re guaranteed Christmas and New Year off. Yes, really.

A sense of humour is essential. Remembering where you put the spatula is a bonus.

I’ve been meaning to share this for ages because it was just too lovely not to! 🥹💗

After hosting a gorgeous wedding celebration afternoon tea for one of our customers, we received this little thank you card… AND these beautiful candle tins as gifts for the team and me.

Little things like this mean so much to us! 🥹

We put a lot of love into making your celebrations feel special, so hearing that someone has gone home genuinely happy with their day is the best feedback we could ask for, never mind taking the time to bring us gifts afterwards!

You really didn’t have to, but you absolutely made our day. 🥰

You’ve got the idea. We’ve got the space. 💗

Our new event room is ready to be made yours, and I’m so excited to see what you do with it.

With space for up to 24 people seated, it’s perfect for birthday celebrations, baby showers, team days, workshops, afternoon teas, clubs, classes and private gatherings.

You can keep things simple or completely transform the room for the occasion. And because you’re at Milliefox, there’s obviously very good coffee, cake and food just next door too. 😉

Had a great first Sunday opening. Sun was shining, lots of lovely regulars & new customers popped in. This was our first customer (Foxy), very apt name 😂

Didn’t get chance to take any more pics, we were too busy cooking, making coffee & hosting a kids birthday party in our new event room.

Just a reminder we are starting our Sunday opening tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing how many people pop along!

We are doing our usual menu plus lots of fresh cakes & coffee.

The plan is to create a different Sunday menu if we stay open after the trial weeks.

Hoping to include items such as Giant filled Yorkie Puds and Yorkshire pudding wraps but to put all the extras on we need a bigger team so we need to make sure customers want Sunday Opening!

So if you want your local cafe open 7 days a week. Come & try us out between now & October half term!

It’s that time of year again….

We are now offering tables at our Milliefox Christmas Fairs.

The events will run on Friday 23rd October and Friday 20th November.

If you are a local artist, crafter or have a small local business you want to promote please drop us a Dm to book a table.

Tables are £15 each, this includes your table (please bring your own cloth) a hot or cold drink and advertising up to the event. You are also welcome to drop info about your business into Milliefox so we can advertise you in advance.

These events are always really well attended & last year we could not fit all of you in but this year we have made our function room bigger so can accept an additional 4 stall holders or we can offer double tables if you need more space.

This will book fast so please get in touch asap.

I need to give my team a shout-out 💗 because the last few months at Milliefox have been… a lot!!

When I made the decision to sell the café, these guys had to deal with all the uncertainty that came with it. Then we got incredibly close to a sale, but I couldn’t go through with something that I knew would put their jobs in jeopardy. So the sale fell through.

Then came the slightly mad decision that actually, I wasn’t going anywhere! 😂 We were staying. We were giving Milliefox a proper go. And if we were doing it, we were doing it properly.

Cue the refurb…

And once again, this team just got stuck in. They painted, moved things, cleaned, organised, helped me put everything back together and somehow tolerated me changing my mind approximately 400 times along the way! 😆

Now the doors are back open and we’re starting a completely new chapter together. I know I’m the person you probably associate with Milliefox, but there’s a whole team behind it and I genuinely couldn’t do it without them.

They’ve stuck by me and this little business through a pretty bonkers few months. So this post is just for them.

Thank you, team Milliefox. I’m very, very lucky to have you 💗 Right then… let’s see what this next chapter has in store for us 👏
