Just rustled up a little hot potato side dish for a meal we’re having tonight. We had some boiled potatoes leftovers. Had to use them. I just love this simple little dish. Utterly delicious.
If you want the recipe, send me a message and I’ll respond in the next day or so, with the method too. Here’s my white potato curry (yes, it’s yellow😀) too, for comparison.

Cooking again at The Crooked Tap - Acomb tomorrow, folks. Come along for some authentic, home made Sri Lankan curries. Beef, pork and also veggie and vegan options. Along with tasty roti (flatbread) and seasoned rice. Yum!! From 5pm-ish!! And again on Saturday!!

New Year’s Day would not be New Year’s Day in our house without partaking of a little kiribath- literally milk rice. It is a good luck dish for a plentiful year ahead. Made by boiling pudding or arborio rice in a pan and then adding plenty of coconut milk. Add some salt. Put it on a plate and slice it like a cake. I have it with a very hot onion Sambol. Jules has hers with honey. It’s not too late to make your own… very filling, very tasty. Good luck, good health and good eating for 2023, everyone.

Thank you to all our wonderful customers w***e so kind to us in saying how much they love the food. Thanks to Jimmy, Nathan and Strider for two great nights. There really is something deeply satisfying about feeding good people. It’s who we all are.
