“ I ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO FOLLOW HIS DREAM WITH ANY RISKS!”
As Somerset Live said “A Coach swaps football for pizza” actually that’s not true as my passion beside my restaurant is football! Actually that’s the mission of my life! It has been a tough journey over the past year to keep alive my aspirations to develop and grow as a football coach, and at the same time to fulfil a dream of bringing joy to others through my love of pizza. I now find myself fighting to cling onto the latter.
How shall I start? We live in difficult times, we live in a moment where nothing is easy…well we want today actually now to make you all aware of our story, and even if we will get bad reactions or good it doesn’t matter I will try to fight to the very last drop of energy I can muster. Edgar’s Pizza…. A story, a business, a restaurant, a takeaway and end of the day the man behind the dream…….Edgar!
I’ve been crazy enough to open this restaurant exactly before the lockdown last year in December, lots of people told me…”Edgar you’re mad mad, it’s a very big risk, my answer ‘ To reach for my dreams takes risk, passion, nothing these days can be done without a little craziness. The first initial month went well but like all new businesses lots of problems you know that type of problems which occur all the time with this kind of entity, we had lots of peoples being so happy with our pizza and also we had lots of people which not so happy with our pizza!
Now as time flys by guess what…we woke up in the middle of lockdown with a brand new business and with lots of people being very careful with their spending and Edgar’s Pizza started already to be under pressure from the Pandemic that has struck so many worldwide. We never refuse to die as a brand, as a restaurant, as a takeaway, as a business! Actually there are lots of businesses in our situation and my heart goes out to each and everyone one of them in the same boat we find our restaurant to be in.
In early May of this year we found ourselves not being able to afford any staff due to less sales. There’s times I have to juggle both my passions in life, I had to choose either I am going to my football training session or either stay in the restaurant and concentrate on sales…guess what, I chose to follow my passion even if my restaurant needed so much more from me, doing this all in the last period obviously the cashflow was less and less and we couldn’t afford even to have our full menu available because of the shortages. We had peoples doing photos to our bins and they shared this all over Yeovil..nothing to say, they were right, but no one actually understands the fact that we were struggling to keep the business alive…it’s tough,it’s mad but end of the day it’s a reality! Anyway after all this period we reached a point where we are very close to close our doors for always and be remembered as a tiny restaurant trying to survive in this tough period. Because we refuse to close our doors for always we decided to sell some shares from our business in order to keep our business alive and why not to build a franchise! If anyone is intrested in buying shares for our business please feel free to contact us on our page!
As an end we would like to thanks to all of our loyal customers who supported our business in this difficult times and Sunday might be our last trading day but you know what? We are so so pleased for having the courage to try something when other businesses actually closed their doors.
With love Edgar’s Pizza!
