Our final Saturday at the NFC Diner is nearly over… and honestly, we’re sad, happy and all the emotions.

The support, the love, the kind words you’ve shared with us — it means everything. Paddy, Tavish, and I have felt so, so so loved, and we can’t thank you enough for making this final stretch so special.

Last night was Ramona’s final shift, and we just want to say how truly incredible she’s been. An absolute rock — not just for us, but for so many of you who’ve come to know and love her too. We were lucky to have her as part of the team.

Over the years, we’ve had so many wonderful humans work with us — we don’t have photos of everyone (though we wish we did!), but we wanted to share a few memories here. Some sweet, some silly, all full of the joy this journey has brought us.

We’re heading into the final weekend of NFC… and we can’t help but reflect on how it all began.

Paddy and I were on a staycation towards the end of the Covid days when the idea first sparked: a fully vegan version of NFC, built around homemade, gluten-free ‘chicken’ that could travel to markets and festivals. Paddy brought years of experience creating incredible food as a chef, and I’d spent nearly a decade working in vegan food marketing. We thought… maybe this could be something special.

That dream came true — and we couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved.

We’ve got a few announcements to share this weekend. And just to be clear — no, we’re not changing our minds, and yes, we are officially closing. But with so many of you asking what’s next, we want to keep you in the loop. So keep your eyes peeled.

We’ve slowly started closing the doors on No Frickin Chicken.

Our last festival has been served. Our final market has been packed down. And on Monday, we brought out our gear one last time — for the most perfect ending we could’ve asked for: Michael & Cat’s wedding. 💛

Michael and Cat have supported us from the very beginning — the kind of customers who became friends. They’d drive nearly an hour for monthly date nights at the diner, always showing up with warmth and smiles. So, it felt right that our final event would be for them.

It was emotional, beautiful, and full of love — and we’re so honoured to have been part of their special day. Thank you both for letting us be part of your celebration, for all the trips to NFC, and for just being brilliant humans.

And to every festival, market, birthday party, wedding, and corporate event we’ve been lucky enough to be part of over the last four years — thank you for choosing us. What an unforgettable ride it’s been. 🖤

Since sharing the news, you’ve been showing up in full force — and honestly, it’s been amazing. We’re getting busier by the day, and often full to capacity (THANK YOU! 🙌).

The Final Events at No Frickin Chicken 💔

We want to make these last few weeks unforgettable! We have a lineup of final events, from our last ever Board Games Night to our Final Quiz, the Kids Easter Craft Day, Cooking Classes, and of course, the Last NFC Meal.

It is with a heavy heart that we share some truly difficult news. As of May 4th, No Frickin Chicken will be closing its doors for good.

Since launching in April 2021, we’ve had an incredible 4 years - traveling the UK for markets & festivals, serving thousands of you at Download, Glastonbury, 2000 Trees, Greenman, VCO & so more. Opening our Diner & celebrating its first anniversary was a huge milestone. We have been beyond grateful for this journey.

Unfortunately, the rising costs of running an independent business have caught up with us. Food prices continue to soar, rent remains high, & the expenses of maintaining the trailer keep adding up. This year alone, we’ve been hit with a huge, unjust water bill & major van breakdowns that would cost over £10k to repair - money we don’t have. These are some of the financial hurdles, the reality is that we can’t continue.

Making this decision to close the Diner and the Trailer has been devastating. For the past 2 weeks, we’ve gone back & forth, trying to find a way to make it work. Hana has cried every day & Paddy has run the numbers over & over, hoping for a different answer. We considered sharing this in a video, but truthfully, we wouldn’t have made it through without breaking down.

💛 Most importantly, to YOU—our incredible customers. Whether you followed our trailer from town to town, came to see us at festivals for breakfast, lunch, & dinner (you know who you are!), visited the diner with your family, popped in for coffee or made the trip for your monthly date night - we appreciate you!

April Will Be Our Final Month
If you want to visit us one last time, we’d love to see you. We still have some amazing events left:
The Final Board Games Night, Cooking Classes & more. We’ll be sharing all the dates tomorrow - so keep an eye out.

This is not the post we ever wanted to write, but we are so grateful for the journey. Thank you for every meal, every moment & every memory.
