The menu has been decided for our first carvery Sunday Lunch, choice of meats will be Beef, Chicken and Pork + a Vegetarian option, Yorkshire Puddings, Roast Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing and other vegetables which we think will likely include Carrots, Peas and Cauliflower Cheese. Standard £15 or Small £12. Served from 12 noon on Sunday 13th September to 3pm. We already have bookings and booking is advised. (Note: we will not be allowing dogs in the new dinning area or va**ng). People can eat in whatever part of the pub they choose.

Lots of events lined up for September and October including this Bingo Night for local SEND charity (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities). A Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 25th September ( Bake a cake anyone ? ). A Disco Night in October hosted by those famous Whitby DJ's Ron, Spike, Rowley & Co for Dalewood House. Then of course it will be one year since The Stakesby Arms reopened on Sat Oct 3rd .... Party ?

We are hoping to host a Coffee Morning on Friday 25th September for Macmillan Cancer Support, volunteeers needed to make, bake or provide a cake. The Stakesby Arms will provide the tea and coffee at a price which will all go to this worthwhile cause.

TUESDAY - Everyone welcome to the weekly Bingo Night (18+) which starts at 7pm with tickets on sale from 6pm, finishes around 9.15pm. WEDNESDAY - Weekly Quiz Night which kicks off at 8pm, your regular host Noreen takes a break this week, so the Quiz will be hosted by Dave, who will be giving extra prizes away for a bit of fun, everyone welcome.

Opening Hours will change as from this Friday the 4th when the pub will open at 2pm. not 12 Noon. Saturday & Sundays will still be 12 Noon, Mondays Closed, and Tuesday to Friday from 2pm. Staff shifts are changing and moving to different shifts, and you will be seeing more of the new staff. Sunday Lunches (Carvery) begins on Sunday 13th September.

A huge THANK YOU to all the Stakesby Arms regulars and customers who have supported Lorraine Porteus and her two assistants ( Lee & Mike ) in breaking the £2000.00 barrier for The Defibrillator Appeal after last nights event. They raised £432.00 last night through the raffle and auction. Thank You also to the local businesses who have supported this - more news on this to come.
