We want our page to be a place where people can share how they feel about the National Trust and Corfe Castle, and talk about their experiences in a fun environment. We welcome feedback – both positive and negative. It helps us to learn and grow. These house rules aim to ensure everyone can enjoy themselves while they’re here. Moderation policy

In general, we don’t moderate posts – except on the rare occasion that someone has used offensive language or posted libellous content on our page. We have a duty to protect our staff and volunteers, so while we would be very reluctant to delete comments, our legal position is that any post containing libellous content should be removed. If an individual continues to post offensive, threatening or libellous content then we’ll be forced to block that person from the page. We won’t tolerate postings, content, or links that are racist, sexist or homophobic. We also don’t permit linking to or posting any content which endorses illegal activity, or any activities against the values of the National Trust. In April, Corfe Castle hosted around 240 Cubs, Beavers and Scouts in the grounds of the castle to renew their pledges in the Outer Bailey.

What a special backdrop they had with the castle keep in the sunshine.

Around 600 people attended the ceremony including community and Scout leaders plus families as part of the annual St George's Day parade.

After renewing their pledges, the young people explored the ruins of the 900-year-old castle.

Congratulations to all involved for making it such a special morning.

Corfe Castle's keep was probably built by AD 1106. This is a very early date for a keep made of stone (early keeps were usually made of wood because they could be built faster).

It's thought there are only between ten and fifteen stone keeps in existence in England by AD 1100, making Corfe's keep amongst some of the first in England 🏰✨

Some of the Time Team gang had the best time at Chalke History Festival yesterday ☀️

One of their favourite displays were these replica arrowheads, beautifully crafted by master arrowsmith Will Sherman.

The replicas are based on seven arrowheads discovered at Corfe Castle during archaeological excavations between 1986 - 1993.

An exhibition of some of Corfe Castle's fascinating medieval finds will be on display at Corfe Castle Welcome Centre from 8 July to 31 October 🏰
