“Where Dreams & Reality Collide”
We have a motto: We make the things we wish existed.
It sounds like a line about furniture. It isn’t, really. It’s a way of living. Because if you spend your days making the things you wish existed — the swing you dreamed of as a child, the quiet hour you keep promising yourself, the field you always meant to sit in — then something quietly remarkable happens.
Dreams and reality begin to collide.
That’s what these words mean, carved into the back of a swing: Where Dreams & Reality Collide. Not a wish for some other life, but proof that the two can meet. A dream is only a dream until you build a place to sit in it. Then it becomes an afternoon. A field of wildflowers. An oak swing swaying in the wind, going nowhere in particular, which is rather the point.
We think the collision happens in the small choices. Making the thing rather than wanting it. Sitting in the field rather than driving past it. Letting the wind do the moving for a while.
And sometimes, if you sit long enough, the field gives you your next idea. Today it handed us one, blowing across the meadow:
The answer is blowing in the wind.
Perhaps that’s the next thing we wish existed. Perhaps we’ll carve it too.
Where would your dreams and reality collide, if you built the place to sit? 🌾
