Ever wondered whether there really is a difference between a supermarket gin and a premium, small-batch gin?

Our member, The Isle of Colonsay Distillery, takes a closer look at what goes into the bottle, discussing the craft and distillation process to the flavour and finish.

Distilled in small batches on the remote and wild island of Colonsay, Colonsay Gin combines traditional methods with a real sense of place. Their classic London Dry-style gin is juniper-forward and distilled in a copper pot still, with the care and attention that comes from producing on a small scale.

If you enjoy discovering local producers and want to know a little more about what’s in your glass, their latest article is well worth a read.

✨Member Spotlight: Wee Isle Dairy and Cafe ✨

Wee Isle Dairy is a family-owned and operated business, producing artisan ice cream and bottling fresh whole milk from their own cows.

Based at Tarbert Farm on the beautiful Isle of Gigha, off Scotland’s south west coast, the dairy has been in commercial production since 2017. They are also the only commercial dairy in Scotland still pasteurising milk using the traditional low-temperature method, a process widely used before supermarket production methods became standard in the 1970s.

Their rich, creamy milk, handcrafted ice cream and indulgent ice cream sauces can now be found in shops across Argyll and beyond.
