What a show South of England Agricultural Society was with the Dexter National Show being held there this year!

There was a fantastic turn out of great cattle from all over the country to support the National Show 2026.

A huge thank you for everyone in the South East for being so welcoming to us from the West!

It was great to meet so many friends, and make new friends from far and wide, but most of all it was so special to us to have Diana Smith with us for the day!

My great friend Di was also the breeder of Harris who is now 15.5YEARS OLD, and walked away with breed CHAMPION! This is probaly a record for the breed. He is a super square, dual purpose but strong, medium sized bull, with a fantastic temperament and topline. We have lots of off spring from Harris, with his latest son being born today!

We had a magical weekend coming home with 🏆 OVERALL CHAMPION
🏆JUNIOR CHAMPION
🏆YOUNG HANDLER CHAMPION
🏆RESERVE FEMALE CHAMPION

We are still on cloud 9, and it feels like a fairy tale, taking 1st place in every class we entered at a National Show (even if we are now flat out trying to catch up with the farm chores and our off farm jobs, as well as recovering from the show!)

This afternoon we moved some of the cows and calves in with our young bull Magnum.

He is looking an absolute picture for a bull who is only 23months old! We are very excited to see what this young bull produces next year. Potentially he already has a daughter on the ground- we are just awaiting DNA results back!

Harris spends his evenings out in the field most nights, mooching around eating the grass with the ram lambs happily.

Last night he must have forgotten the gate was there and had gone straight through it into a field of cows down the lane.

He was a little reluctant to come in this morning to say the least 🤣🤣.

Bath time and milk time for one of our favourite calves.
She is out of our 3rd calver who is only 3yrs 10months old-
AMY'Z ICE LOLLY

This cow has the most fantastic udder and mammary, with beautiful teats.

She is one of our hardest working girls, and one who seems to produce the best calves.

The two bulls are maturing into great show and herd sires, with good success in the show ring.

And her newest arrival Ice Pop is looking like she has an exciting future ahead of her.

Just a boy and his bull!

William has been busy collecting grass, left in the field from making the silage yesterday and feeding it to his best friend Harris the 15year old bull. He then has been sitting with him, chatting away about how much more he will be getting him later!

William and Harris have a special bond that is rare to find, it is truely magical.

Sometimes our cattle, ewes and lambs all graze together creating a 'flerd'.
Grazing a block of grassland together for a short period of time, ensures that they eat most of the growth at a level height.
Then when the animals are moved out after a few days, it allows the field to grow back evenly, creating a brilliant feed in a few weeks time for them to move back!
