Our final event this weekend, one more day to go tomorrow, then our 2025 season is done. A fun one to end on. It’s been a long, tiring, wonderful season. Time now to spend time with my dear family, treasured friends, dogs and horses. I cannot thank you all enough for continuing to come along on this journey with us…. My love R xx

Relieved to have wrapped our final Grey Earl day but I wanted my last post of 2025 to acknowledge Yas’s contribution. She will be stepping back from full-time to the occasional day next year. She’s been such a loyal, steady presence by my side for so long, it’s hard to imagine there will be some Grey Earling days without her. So much of this journey has been shared with Yas, impossibly early mornings, long, long days and late nights. Memories of her maintaining absolute calm taking orders while there is utter chaos reining behind her, always makes me smile. Yas, Geens, Camilla, CGW, GGW, DGW and everyone who helps us throughout the year, thank you for everything — your love and support has meant and continues to mean, the absolute world to me. Xx

Today The Grey Earl was back out once again but this time on perfect flat paving stones! Really happy to be asked back by Wealden District Council to provide afternoon tea and ice cream for our MP, Mayor, their guests and new tenants at the grand opening of a stunning little housing development they have created just outside Uckfield. I was properly proud to serve ice cream homemade by my friend . There’s three precious ones left and I’ve hidden them…G-W Family don’t even think about trying to find them!! Festival of Speed this year was as joyfully boiling bonkers as usual. No time to look around so we watched vicariously through some videos and photos taken by our special Grey Earl Engineering student envoys. They also very kindly fashioned a splendid repair on the vintage cheese cutter, while Geens was inside assembling ploughman’s lunches with a cucumber stuck onto her forehead. I love what I do and the very dear nutters I work with. X

A perfect way to round off our spring events—Supercar Sunday Breakfast Club gathered together some truly spectacular cars this morning. Elderflower Fields—all over for another year. Huge respect to the brilliant So Sussex team for raising the bar yet again. We were lucky to have a fantastic new pitch this year, right in the thick of it, so we could soak up the sights, sounds, and I hope, give a little coffee and toastie joy. It was wonderfully hectic, and now I’m home, reflecting on a weekend well done—and feeling incredibly grateful for the amazing people we meet every day, both behind the event scenes and at our counter and of course friends and my family who choose to do this with me year after year. To Yas, Adi, Geens, Sarah, CGW, and Duncs—thank you, from the bottom of my heart. X

Just returned from delivering the Beetroot Cake and Birchers into the hands of the Great Taste Awards judges in Shaftesbury. This all seemed a fun idea in January when I wasn’t busy! Note the excellent packaging, just a little after thought insurance against my unique driving style. 😬
Judgement is this very afternoon…results published in July I think. 😳🤞🙏 x
