I am working day and night at the moment to rebrand and refurb ahead of the new cafe opening. I hope you’ll stick with me. I have a shoe string budget and am doing all the work myself (with my lovely parents popping in to help), so it’s incredibly demanding.

But I’m so excited for when I can finally welcome you to Shelley’s. ☕️

🏡 Our cats are on day 4 & 5 in their new forever homes so I thought I’d give you a little update. They are all settling well.

✨Olive✨is having gradual introductions to her new sister Bunty, they are still wary of each other but taking it slowly. Olive seems to be thriving in her new home with one of our volunteers who is retired and has a very quiet and calm home which seems to suit our Princess.

✨Peanut & Ziggy✨are having gradual introductions to their new sister Ruby. Peanut was very nervous for his first 24 hours but is growing in confidence every day, and of course Ziggy is taking it all in his stride.

✨Bootsy & Pip✨love their new cat dad, as you can see Pip is already enjoying lap cuddles and he was instantly at home. It took Bootsy a little longer, he hid for the first 48 hours but is now out and about and getting up to mischief on top of the fridge!

✨Biscuit✨was very quickly at home with the Finnegan’s Aunties and he is bonding brilliantly with his new brother Goose - just look at those two, what an adorable pair 🥰.

Knowing that the cats are happy and loved is what it’s all about. 🐾

A very difficult morning. My heart is breaking but I know once they are settled in, the fur babies will thrive in their new homes. It’s very quiet in here now.

Thank you to everyone who has made a bid on the items for sale. I wasn’t expecting so much interest and such a high value of bids. On many items there have been bids in excess of what I originally paid, and I don’t feel comfortable with taking more from people than what I paid for the items brand new.

A lady contacted me offering a set price for everything as she runs a cat rescue herself. This isn’t as much money as I could have received from selling everything individually, but I’m sure you’ll agree that it will be fitting for the items to go towards helping and bringing joy to other rescue cats.

I’m sorry to disappoint those of you who made bids but I do hope you understand my decision.

The rug and reception desk are still available so if you have made a bid on those, I will be in touch.

Items for sale

The cats are taking their favourite items with them but there are still some things left over for sale. If you’d like any of these pls drop a comment under the relevant photo with the amount you’d like to pay. The items will go to the highest bidder at the end of the week.

Please note that you will need to be able to collect from the cafe next week.
