Throwing it back to some of my favourite cake designs 😋

The cheeseboard cake still makes me smile because I can remember working on it in our tiny flat kitchen, during a heatwave that was absolutely determined to undo everything.
When the sugarpaste starts softening as you’re trying to work with it, and the fridge-cold buttercream starts melting before you’ve even had chance to cover the cake… 🫠
But honestly, I absolutely loved creating all of these.
Sugarcrafted cakes take time, patience and a lot of tiny details, but they’re also so much fun to bring together. I can’t wait to start taking on orders for them again.

Raspberry Noir looking 👌

I’m thinking of making another batch for the end of the week… maybe a little Friday treat?
I can’t quite believe we’re at the summer holidays already. Come September, I’ll have so much more time to dedicate to orders, events and developing Bramble & Butter properly — but what a huge change it will be having no smalls at home with me.
I have a small window at the end of this week for any last-minute orders if you fancy something from the menu.

I know it’s July. Please don’t shun me 😂🎄

But Christmas planning and bookings really do start now for so many small businesses… and honestly, this is such a lovely idea.
When you’re self-employed or running your own small business, you don’t always get the “work Christmas party” moment. No office do, no team night out, no excuse to get dressed up and celebrate surviving another year of doing all the things yourself.
But the fantastic Hannah from Howley Coffee Co has basically said, “Not on my watch.”

She’s organising a *Small Business Christmas Party* at the beautiful Carey’s Manor in Brockenhurst on Friday 4th December 2026 — with a 7pm arrival, champagne, dinner, and proper classic Christmas party vibes.

It’s £10 deposit per person to reserve your space, with final payment due w/c 2nd November.
So if you’re a small business owner, self-employed or a one-person band who usually misses out on the Christmas party fun… treat yourself. Come and celebrate. Get dressed up. Eat lovely food. Feel festive. You’ve earned it.

I know. It’s July. Don’t shout at me. 😂

But… mince pie planning is officially happening behind the scenes at Bramble & Butter.
Preorders for homemade mince pies will be opening on 1st October, ready for the festive season — because Christmas orders always creep up faster than we think, and buttery little festive bakes deserve their moment.
Perfect for Christmas gatherings, teacher gifts, workplace treats, festive boxes, or just keeping a stash at home with a cup of tea.
More details will be coming closer to the time, but for now… this is your very early, very gentle warning.
