As many of our followers know, last month someone broke into SeaChange, stealing from us and taking all of our team’s hard-earned tips.

Last night, something much better happened.

The lovely Listen with Ian Black organised a fundraising gig at The Cumberland Arms and, thanks to the generosity of everyone who came along, raised £156 to replace those tips.

Every penny will go straight back to the staff who earned them.

We’re delighted to be part of an exciting new chapter as The Inclusionists Café prepares to open at Haddington Vale, Doxford Park, Sunderland.

The Inclusionists Café brings together Sea Change and AutismAble to form a unique partnership with Gentoo Group, creating a flagship café and training hub that will provide meaningful employment, training and volunteering opportunities for neurodivergent young people and adults.

🍳 We’re now recruiting for 2 Cook positions to join our groundbreaking, inclusive team and help us launch this exciting new café.

A huge thank you to Sharon Simpson
for finding our till hidden in a bush in the Marine Park and letting us know.

The police and forensics have been back out to recover fingerprints, so we’re keeping everything crossed that they find something useful.

Surprisingly, the till itself is still in working order! We will need to replace the cash drawer, but after the last few days it’s nice to have a little bit of good news.

Because of everything that has happened over the last couple of days following the burglary, we’ve been delayed in sharing our heartfelt thanks to this wonderful lady, Liz Hatch and her family.

Last Thursday, we were incredibly honoured to receive a donation of £572.80 following her funeral the day before. In her memory, she had asked for donations to be made to Sea Change instead of flowers.

We are so grateful that she chose to support us in this way. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones, and we cannot thank them enough for thinking of us at such a difficult time.

Your kindness and generosity will help us continue supporting the people who rely on Sea Change every day. ❤️
