Friday is all about those chippy favourites. 🐟🍟

Our themed days DO NOT mean you have to have pie today or fish tomorrow! 😂

There are some traditions that just make Christmas feel like Christmas… ❤️

And Christmas Eve at The Rose & Crown, Barlborough is definitely one of them.

Think twinkling lights, a packed pub full of familiar and new faces, Christmas songs everyone knows the words to and that proper warm, festive feeling you just can’t recreate. 🎅🏼🍻

This year, we’re keeping Christmas Eve exactly how it should be — wholesome, traditional and full of Christmas spirit.

🎤 We’ll begin with a live singer performing a mixture of old & new Christmas favourites…

🎶 Followed by our wonderful local church choir bringing a little Christmas magic…

🎺 Before a traditional brass band takes us right into Christmas Eve.

No gimmicks. No big fancy theme.

Just a proper village Christmas Eve at the pub. ❤️🎄

🥧❤️ WHAT A FIRST WEEK! ❤️🥧

Well… the first week of The Artisan Pie Company at The Rose & Crown is officially complete — and what a week it’s been! 🙌

It’s been BUSY, the kitchen has certainly been put through its paces, and we’ve absolutely loved seeing so many of you coming through the doors to give the new food a try. 🍽️

But the best part? The feedback has been incredible. 🥹❤️

From the pies and pizzas to the Sunday roasts, the lovely comments, messages and reviews have honestly been amazing. Seeing empty plates coming back to the kitchen and hearing how much you’ve enjoyed your meals is exactly what we wanted from this new chapter at The Rose & Crown.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has joined us this week, left a review, recommended us or simply told us how much you enjoyed your food. Your support really does mean the world to both The Rose & Crown and The Artisan Pie Company. 🥰

And of course, a massive well done to the team for getting through a very busy first week! 👏

From tomorrow, we’ll be serving food EVERY THURSDAY TO SUNDAY, with 4 proper theme days to get stuck into.

16 different handmade pies!
Yep… SIXTEEN!
Made by us, filled properly and served with mash or chips, peas or beans and our signature gravy.

You’ll be spoilt for choice.
Or, knowing some of you, you’ll spend 20 minutes choosing and then order the steak and ale anyway! 😂

🐟 FRIDAY – FISH-FRYDAY
A proper chippy tea at the pub!
Fresh NOT FROZEN cod, crispy batter and all the usual favourites.

None of that frozen fish that’s been round more countries than you have. 😂

🍕 SATURDAY – PIZZA DAY
Handmade pizzas, fresh to order, on a proper thin crust.

No great big doughy frisbees here…
Just proper pizza! 🍕🔥

🍽️ SUNDAY – PROPER SUNDAY LUNCH
A plate full of tradition for just £15!

Proper roast. Proper portions. Proper gravy.

And don’t worry, we haven’t put a roast potato on the plate and called it “rustic”. 😂
