Right folks, bit of advance warning because we’ve got a few days coming up where we won’t be here…
Tuesday 22nd September – CLOSED
We’ve got something to go and have a look at. 👀
It may be the start of another little adventure, it may be absolutely nothing. Knowing us, it’ll probably involve spending money and creating work for ourselves that nobody actually asked us to do.
That’s all you’re getting for now.
And no, we’re not telling you what it is. You lot are terrible for encouraging us. 😂
Then Wednesday 30th September – CLOSED again because we’re off to a food suppliers trade show in Hull.
Chef says it’s to look for new products, meet suppliers and get some ideas.
SJ has discovered there are loads of free samples, so frankly we can stop pretending it’s a work trip.
Chef will basically be eating his way around Hull while occasionally nodding thoughtfully and calling it research.
There is a very real danger we’ll come back with a boot full of samples and another special nobody asked for.
And while we’re warning you about dates… our holiday is nearly here too!
We’ll be closing from 10th October and should be back open around the 20th/21st, depending on when we can get fresh stock delivered once we’re home. We’ll confirm that properly nearer the time.
We’re off to Wales and Chef has decided he’s going to drag himself up Snowdon while we’re there.
And obviously he’s taking a duck.
Because apparently walking up a mountain like a normal 47-year-old wasn’t daft enough.
This one does actually have a proper reason though — it’s a little pink CMduck, one of the travelling ducks spreading kindness and breast cancer awareness, so the plan is to get the little bu**er all the way to the top. 🩷🦆⛰️
Whether Chef gets all the way to the top is currently less certain.
If necessary, the duck will be asked to continue without him.
So yeah… bit of a funny few weeks coming up.
A mystery outing, eating our bodyweight in free samples, then Wales with a rubber duck.
We promise we do still run a café. Occasionally. 😂
