Here’s a little snippet from our second Dog Social at The King William. This time we were blessed with over 65 Dachshunds 🥺😭 we had a wonderful time with so many lovely sausages and their amazing owners 🌭

Next Sunday, it’s time for the Spaniels!

Our next King William Dog Social is dedicated to little dogs with very big personalities, the Dachshunds are taking over the King Billy garden! 🐾🌭

Join us for what may be the greatest gathering of sausages Scaftworth has ever seen, with standard, miniature, smooth-haired, long-haired and wire-haired Dachshunds all welcome.

📅 Sunday 4 October
⏰ 10am–11.30am
📍 The King William, Scaftworth

🎟️ Entry is £5 per dog, payable at the gate. This includes a pup cup and a donation to The Mayflower Animal Sanctuary.

🍞 Freshly made breakfast sandwiches will be available to purchase, alongside barista coffee and tea for the humans!

No dog? No problem! Whether you’re considering getting a Dachshund, desperately hoping to befriend one or simply fancy spending your Sunday morning surrounded by tiny legs and enormous personalities (I mean, who wouldn’t?) you’re very welcome to join us. 🥹

Not your dog’s week? Don’t worry! We’ll be hosting a different dog social every Sunday until our all-breeds Christmas Pawty on 13 December! 🎄🐶

We’ll also be introducing even more breeds and dog groups in the new year, so every pooch will get their turn.

No advance tickets are required, just turn up and pay by cash or card at the gate.

🎆 An absolute belter of a firework display, guaranteed! Here’s Nigel from Galactic Fireworks (aka Super Car Nigel, aka Mr 5th November) and Joe looking like two Cheshire cats last year. It’s a display that’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

🎵 Live music from Roger and The No Ones all evening, plus a corker of a soundtrack to the display that’ll have you tapping your feet.

🍺 Your ticket includes a drink! Adults can choose from any pint, a house w**e, a house spirit and mixer, or a pint of draught soft drink.

🥪 It also includes a hot pork sandwich, or a hot dog for the kids. Once you’ve bought your tickets, the evening is basically free by the time November comes around.

🥞 The legendary Madame Crêpe will be here again this year. Who can say no to a gooey, Nutella-loaded crêpe?

☕️ And if that’s not enough, we’ve got Martin from Nomad Coffee joining us too! Speciality coffee served from a Defender 110? Sorry, but that’s cool 😮‍💨

Still smiling about yesterday’s first Dog Social! 🐾

Here are a few of our favourite moments from a morning full of wagging tails, new friends and Goldens and Labs making a beeline for the river. 💦

Thank you to everyone who joined us at The King William. We loved meeting your dogs and can’t wait to do it all again! And for those of you want to know... Yes! We absolutely will be doing another Goldens and Labs meet up in the new year 🥳

Don't forget, you can bring them along to the All Breeds Christmas Pawty on Sunday 13th December, too! 🎅🏻

What a morning at our first ever Dog Social! 🐾

There were more Golden Retrievers and Labradors than we could count and, naturally, they all found their way to the river eventually! 💦

Thank you so much to everyone who came along and supported us and The Mayflower Animal Sanctuary. We hope you and your floofs made lots of new friends.

We suspect there’ll be plenty of sleepy dogs this afternoon… which sounds like the perfect excuse for a few hours on the sofa! 🛋️🐶

Next Sunday, it’s the Dachshunds’ turn! Join us from 10am–11:30am 🌭

Firework Extravaganza tickets are now on sale for 2026! 🎆

We’re doing it all again at the King William on Thursday 5th November, with a spectacular display from Galactic Fireworks, live music from Roger and the No Ones and plenty to keep you warm while you wait. Expect coffee from Nomad and crêpes from Madame Crêpe, too! ☕🥞

Gates open at 5pm, with the display no later than 8pm. Tickets include food and a drink, and places are limited, so book yours through the link before they’re gone! 🔥
