Village Farm cafe is what it is because of the people who work here, especially those behind the scenes that you may not see every day! The early mornings, the laughter in the kitchen, the late night events, the constant learning, and the care that goes into every plate.

We’re especially proud of Daisy, who’ll be starting her Commis Chef apprenticeship with us at Village Farm this September, and continuing to learn alongside our Head Chef Tom in the kitchen 👩‍🍳

Watching people grow, gain confidence, and build skills is one of the best parts of what we do here.

We're on the lookout for a passionate, prganised and experienced second chef tow work with the current team here at Village Farm Devon ✨️

Working with fresh, local and organic produce from the Farm where we are based and close by. The chance to be a part of something exciting, new and evolving.

We are a new and ever changing new business who now has two venues, one farm cafe & shop, and a beachfront takeaway shack right by the Salcombe ferry. Your role will be to support the head chef in the running of the food offer at the two.

Our dishes showcase the best of seasonal and local produce and we don't just order from anywhere, we liase with our farmers and growers and use seasonal and local where we can.

Being organised, passionate and taking pride in delivering tasty, ethical dishes that look great is essential. Working well under pressure and good customer service skills are a must as we operate an open kitchen and are always approached by our guests.

Working as one tight-knit team that supports each other is our ethos. Taking charge of the kitchen in the absence of the Head chef is also a requirement.

You should have a interest in using high quality and fresh ingredients both from our farm and from local small suppliers. This is a great opportunity to learn about organic food production and service. We aim to keep things as close to village farm as we can!

Experience in a similar cafe/resturaunt role is beneficial. Candidates should be confident leading a kitchen from the front with positivity, professionalism & passion.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour

An evening with .table cooking from her cookbook "Aegean" a book about inspiration, travel and living life.
'When I think of new dishes, my inspiration comes from people, travelling and imagining new combinations while learning about the old and traditional to create something new and different"

A four course green inspired sharing menu awaits with bar drinks and an evening which promises to be warm, friendly & honest

Arrival and bar 6.30pm
Dinner at 7pm

Mariana's recipe book will be available to purchase on the evening, which will be signed by the former head chef of & where Mariana headed the kitchen.
